You guys needed to take one for the conference and let us have that game!

Seriously, we have no one to blame but ourselves. Could have won it at the line, and didn't.
More than that, we needed to trap Baldwin at half court and make somebody else beat us.
Then...just for icing, Naji went under the screen to give him a smooth, open look.

But hats off. He buried the damn thing, and perhaps our tournament chances.
Good game by you guys, but hard on this old man's heart
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

When you're making like 11 of 12 shots to cruise to their first BE 1st place finish in front of 18K... it'd be weird to not have that swagger showing.

You beat me to it. They almost acted like it was a big deal... confetti and everything. How embarrassed they should be.

The Big East gave Creighton an actual championship trophy on the floor, so I’m not sure anyone can be upset with CU celebrating as such.

OmahaGuy wrote:I'm speechless. I don't know how it happened but boy am I happy to see the Jays take home the Big East title (even if it's a share, a title is still a title). I applaud Coach Mac for this game and rallying the team after last week. I'm not satisfied yet though and nobody should be. I'll officially shut up about Mac if he makes a Sweet 16. I don't believe it will happen BUT this team has proven me wrong over and over again.

Go Jays

Please allow me to add my congratulations.

2020 Big East Tournament bracket: Schedule, scores, dates, location, updates, live stream for March Madness – CBS Sports – March 8, 2020
Seton Hall entered the final day of the regular season with a one-game lead on Creighton and Villanova in the race for the Big East title and the top-seed in next week's conference tournament. The day ended with the Pirates seeded third after they drew the short straw in a three-way tiebreaker.

Creighton will be the No. 1 seed in the Big East Tournament by virtue of its head-to-head record against Seton Hall and Villanova after the Blue Jays denied the Pirates an outright title with a 77-60 over them.

Villanova will be the No. 2 seed after it secured a share of the conference title with a 70-69 win over Georgetown.

All three teams finished 13-5 in Big East regular-season play. Seton Hall could have won the league outright with a victory in either of its last two games. But it just so happened those contests were against its top competition for the title in Villanova and Creighton.

This was a massive win for St. John's. Losing yet another heart breaker like that might've broken the team. Most of us wanted at least a .500 season, which is nearly guaranteed now. We also have a great shot at the NIT. While I would not have signed up for that kind of a season 2 months ago, I would have 4 months ago. Beating 5 Tournament teams in a rebuilding year (WVU/Arizona/Providence/Creighton/Marquette) is very encouraging, especially given the recent play of our freshmen/sophomores.

The future is bright for the Johnnies, as well as the rest of the Big East.
