The Big East gave Creighton an actual championship trophy on the floor, so I’m not sure anyone can be upset with CU celebrating as such.
Lots of prayers heading upward that Zegs is okay.
I agree, I don't see anything wrong with them celebrating with a trophy. Just because SHU and Nova chose not to doesn't mean Creighton can't.
I get why some people took issue with it - that it can be seen as disrespectful to have a trophy ceremony in front of a team that has equal claim to that trophy - but then what's the point of awarding a trophy if you can't celebrate it. Perhaps SHU should have done more to celebrate its share.

I'm speechless. I don't know how it happened but boy am I happy to see the Jays take home the Big East title (even if it's a share, a title is still a title). I applaud Coach Mac for this game and rallying the team after last week. I'm not satisfied yet though and nobody should be. I'll officially shut up about Mac if he makes a Sweet 16. I don't believe it will happen BUT this team has proven me wrong over and over again.
Now I just pray that Marcus is ok
Go Jays

Seton Hall entered the final day of the regular season with a one-game lead on Creighton and Villanova in the race for the Big East title and the top-seed in next week's conference tournament. The day ended with the Pirates seeded third after they drew the short straw in a three-way tiebreaker.
Creighton will be the No. 1 seed in the Big East Tournament by virtue of its head-to-head record against Seton Hall and Villanova after the Blue Jays denied the Pirates an outright title with a 77-60 over them.
Villanova will be the No. 2 seed after it secured a share of the conference title with a 70-69 win over Georgetown.
All three teams finished 13-5 in Big East regular-season play. Seton Hall could have won the league outright with a victory in either of its last two games. But it just so happened those contests were against its top competition for the title in Villanova and Creighton.
Below is the full schedule and tip times for the tournament
