Yea, he's a perfect fit if there ever was one. No doubt he bottled that effort and will bust out some on the 'dogs" and save the rest for the BET.....if he still has some left by Friday at MSG, it gets interesting.

Btw St John's was missing two key rotational players and CU was healthy. St John's came into today being one of the league's worst 3-point shooting teams. CU came in as the opposite. Naturally, St John's catches fire and Creighton can't hit the broad side of a barn.

Big East title? Forget about that.

Sweet 16?? Forget about it. It ain't ever happening (barring an act of God). This is why Creighton always has and will choke in the dance. It's a tradition unlike any other. Saving the worst performances of the year for the worst possible time. Nobody else does it better than Creighton.

The most laughable of them all is Mac being considered for national coach of the year. While I was happy with success they had, I always knew it happened IN SPITE and not because of him.

Sorry!

Dude, chill out. SJU shot 14-22 from 3. They were shooting out of their minds. I would venture to say 99% of teams would lose if your opponent shoots like that
You didn't blow the Big East Title well not yet anyway.... You see the Big East title will be decided at MSG March 11-14... Or did the Ravens win the championship last year because they won the most regular season games not KC? Astros and not Washington? Last time I checked a playoff series decided those Champions and the Big East will decide their's at IMG in a little over a week!

 Here we go again. Look, I'm (H)all-in on team BET (and yesterday confirmed that for me as I was nowhere near as excited about clinching a share of the regular season title as I was about winning the 2016 BET), but this topic was already beaten to death last week. We don't need another round of it.

I'm pretty bought in with Mike Anderson because of what he's done with the talent he has in year one, but that 2015 team was the best SJU team in the new Big East. It's too bad they didn't have Chris Obekpa for the tournament.

Yeah if they can make Friday, things get really interesting. of course that means beating Georgetown and then come back 15 hours later to beat Seton Hall most likely.

Of course, what's amazing is that St John's needs either 1 win this week, or 2 in the BET to just be eligible for the NIT.

And they were poorly coached and fizzled out. That’s always been St. John’s. Super talented with no coach. It’s led them NOWHERE. This team wasn’t going to the NCAAs this year and if you’re going to write off Anderson because they didn’t make the tourney/because they lost a lot of close games (against much better teams) then you are simply delusional.

If they have Obekpa for the tourney, are they really beating San Diego St, let alone Duke(in Charlotte)? with a 940 at night tip on Friday and 240 tip on Sunday. With basically even with him 6 guys.

Yea, oddly enough Anderson and Ewing might be the two most impressive coaching performances in the Big East this season, even though they'll both be playing on Wednesday (and likely each other, I think). I don't think I'm exaggerating if I say Anderson over the prior staff may wind up being worth an additional half-dozen wins this year.

They partly fizzled out because they didn't have the elite shot blocker that changed their entire defensive dynamic. That was simply a better SJU squad than this one. This team isn't going to end up anywhere close enough to the 8/9 seed line in the tournament for it to even be a debate. St. John's was justified in letting Lavin go after that season, though, because a team like that was probably his ceiling and he didn't have much returning the next season. Now, St. John's decided that they wanted to spend some years with Mullin in the years after that, but now they have a coach that long term has a higher ceiling than Lavin.
