new article on ESPN, Big East makes the most of its seeds, AAAck not so much... I also think it’s cool the 2011-2013 Big East is considered.... THE BIG EAST!

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-baske ... ment-seeds

CONFERENCE BIDS AVG. SEED #1 SEEDS #2 SEEDS TOP 2 %
Big East (overall) 60 6.05 7 5 20.0%
Big East (since 2014) 32 6.50 4 3 21.9%
Big East (2011-13) 28 5.54 3 2 17.9%
Big Ten 59 5.73 4 8 20.3%
ACC 57 5.05 11 9 35.1%
Big 12 56 5.55 5 5 17.9%
SEC 43 6.14 3 4 16.3%
Pac-12 38 7.34 2 2 10.5%
Atlantic 10 32 8.69 0 0 0.0%
Mountain West 23 7.74 0 1 4.3%
American (since 2014) 19 6.89 0 1 5.3%

American (3.2 bids per year, one top-two seed)

Aside from UConn's amazing championship run as a No. 7 seed in the conference's first season in 2014, the results just haven't been there for the American. Only three of the 19 teams to make the NCAAs have advanced to the second weekend, two of which came in that first season.

Conference teams have generally received middling seeds, as there has been one No. 2 seed, one No. 3 and a pair of No. 4s in the American's six-year history. Similar to the A-10, a good number of AAC teams (37% to be exact) have received 7, 8 or 9 seeds, so the path hasn't been ideal to start with. It didn't stop UConn in 2014, but this is a league that has yet to receive more than four bids. That's not likely to change this year either, and no team will face the expectation to win more than one game entering the tournament.

I wonder if that counts Xavier, Butler, Temple, etc. as members of the A-10 or their current conferences? It seems like he's not counting our pre-Big East accomplishments at all in his write up of the A-10, but they're not attributed to the Big East either.

Updated Bubble Watch has Hall Nova and CU locks, Butler and MU should be in and GT X and Providence work to do. EIGHT teams. Impressive. I’m going to root for the Blue Demons when they play The Friars for “the real” Big East Championship in msg :D Nine teams dancing.

I just hope I'm not saying, "Time to die," for Xavier on Selection Sunday.

Providence last 4 in and Georgetown Next 4 out.

This league can get anywhere from 6 bids to 8. That is some great numbers there!

I think 6 is probably the minimum now. The Providence/Xavier winner is going to be in good shape....

Where it's going to be tough to get 8 is the team- Georgetown most likely would need to not only win on Wednesday night in the BET, but also rd 2 vs top 2 seed. If Georgetown is in 8th, they'd have that nasty 7pm Wednesday/noon Thursday combo. Is it possible? yeah. But is it likely? Probably not.
