as we get later in the season interesting to see what the paths would look like possibly-
from Lunardi today-
Butler 4 S Cle vs SF Austin, Mich St
Xavier 11 S Tampa vs Arizona, Auburn
Marquette 5 E Sacramento vs Furman, Penn St
Seton Hall 3 E Albany vs Colgate, Iowa/Florida
Villanova 4 MW Albany vs Winthrop, Oregon
Creighton 6 W Cleveland vs Virginia, West Virginia

First thing you notice is Creighton. Would any team have a tougher change maybe ever in change of styles to prepare for? From Virginia to press Virginia.

Butler gets an unlucky break in this in getting what is a really talented team that has struggled. A lot of times teams like that get it all together in March.

Like the road for Marquette. Seton Hall with a pretty decent road. Nova with a pretty talented 2nd round opponent...

Say what you want about lunardi but he’s got 6 Big East schools in his bracket and only 2 AAC.

We could let Providence win at MSG, get 8 teams in, and all we'd lose would be that Stever guy.
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

Good stuff from USA Today:
https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/n ... 817523002/

The Big East currently has no No. 1 seeds or No. 2 seeds. But across the projected NCAA tournament bracket, the league is represented better than any conference in the country.

The Big East leads the nation in the NCAA's NET metric, outpacing the deep Big Ten this season. The league's best team, Seton Hall, checks in as a No. 3 seed and bolstered its profile — and likelihood to vault to the No. 2 line — after a narrow win over Butler on Wednesday. Creighton is also a No. 3 seed with a chance of improving to a No. 2 seed. A March 7 regular-season finale between the two teams could determine more than just conference supremacy.

The Big East hasn't been an overall power in NCAA tournaments since the league reformed in 2013. Although Villanova has won a pair of national titles, the conference isn't at the same level it was in the early 2000s as the nation's obvious top league.

Currently, the Big East has eight of its 10 teams in the projected field, with Villanova (No. 4 seed), Butler (No. 5 seed) and Marquette (No. 5 seed) giving the conference the most top-five seeds (five total) of any in the country. As a result, Big East teams are positioned to do well on the bubble line, too. Xavier is relatively safe right now as a No. 9 seed, Providence just moved into the field as a No. 11 seed, and Georgetown is one of the last four teams in as a play-in No. 12 seed.
