Nova still on Top?

My team has not come close to most of our expectations...very disappointed and no where close to VU for getting it done. Gonna have to be some other team to knock Nova off the top, but it will not be X unfortunately. I tip my hat to those BE teams that can bring it.

Yep, based on my opinion. There is no metric for talent that I am aware. I watch probably 8-10 SHU games each year; I know their rosters. Consistent underachievers under Willard.

The only team they lost to in the NCAA tournament that they objectively had more talent than was Wofford. Arkansas was a toss-up...Kansas and Gonzaga no way.

Where I feel Seton Hall has been an underachiever in past years has been during the regular season. That's gotten them much tougher seeds than they deserved, and made the NCAA tourney that much tougher.

Seton Hall checks all the boxes right now. they have size and depth up front. they have quality depth off the bench. they will have the best player on court against most teams. and their defense is top notch.

This thread is the most significant on the entire board IMO. Villanova has been unquestionably the flagship of the NBE, but SHU made a statement today.....Nova is no longer on top as far as the regular season goes. I find it astounding that The Hall hasn't won in Philly for 25 years??? That's nearly as crazy as Dayton going 0'fer in Cincy for 40.

It is just a F' ing BLAST to watch this conference.....It's a completely different level of INTENSITY compared to pro hoops....I'm addicted!!

It is important to have someone other than Nova win the Big East in many ways. Yes, I know XU did once also but that was overshadowed by their quick NCAA exit and then Nova rolling all the way to a national title.

This year the Big East could end up with five teams seeded 6 or better which bodes well for NCAA units and possible second weekend appearances and that is what the league really needs.

If Nova goes consecutive years without winning a Big East trophy, then I'll think about saying they're no longer on top. I have a hard time seeing them not winning something next year though, even if the rest of the league does seem to be catching up.

Hate to be a buzz kill, but I sort of remember winning BOTH the RS and BET titles LAST YEAR. I'm concerned about this year, but next year is looking pretty promising.
