This one wasn't nearly as close as the final score. X clearly has much more overall talent BUT, Paul Reed has become a VERY IMPOSING player. WoW, he has put some serious muscle on that stringbean frame he had as a frosh......this dude is gonna bank some NBA scratch fo-sho!

AND, if Tyrique Jones continues this brand of NASTY, he may see the ASSOCIATION as well. Could be the next coming of the WORM....but he's gotta step up the lunatic routine and get a cute wardrobe I guess.
Wisdom is what you get 5 seconds after you needed it.

I was dozing on the couch, too tired to get up to go to bed, and the score changed this quickly:

4:43 - X 55-36.
3:26 - X 57-41.
2:48 - X 57-43.
2:35 - X 57-45.
2:26 - X 57-47.
2:14 - X 59-50.
1:51 - X 59-52.
0:42 - X 62-54.
0:34 - X 64-56.

DePaul had a bunch of backcourt steals and layups (or 3-pointers) between the 3 minute and 2 minute marks.

The only points X had between the 4:43 mark and the 1:51 mark were from Tyrique draining 4 perfect free throws.

DePaul may have had the ball too, down 7 with like 1:30 left, but X tightened their D and a bunch if time was lost.

Both have potential to lay a big egg, X could over look 1-8 DePaul after a highly emotional roadkill, while the Blue Demons could have begun to mail it in until the BET.

we did not overlook. i repeat, we did not overlook

And I don't even think DePaul was mailing it in. They just encountered a buzz saw in that first half.

X has righted the ship and looking like a tourney team again, although I doubt they can sustain that type of 1st half shooting performance. Truthfully they don't need to shoot anywhere near that good, anything approaching 35% while playing D and rebounding like they have been is more than good enough.

DePaul didn't mail in their effort, but they look nothing like the team that went 12-1 OOC. They're back to playing undisciplined sub par basketball, DePaul being DePaul. I saw the desperation and aggression from them at the end of the game, they did that too against Nova, they need to play like that for 40 minutes thou.

DePaul got off to a great start this year, but the wheels have really come off. Can Dave Leitao survive this? You'd hate to see them start over again, and they do have some good players, but at what point do you have to at least be competitive in the league?

It was a combination of us not handling the pressure and the refs basically choking on their whistles and letting depaul mug us for the ball. Such a shame we could’ve really improved our metrics
