M v M

The home for Big East hoops

There is a potential scenario in which Markus reaches 3000 points. He sits at 2434. 12 games remaining. If MU could win a couple of games in the BET, and then win at least 1 in the tourney that gives him an additional 5. If he were to average about 33PPG in those 17 games he hits 3K. He's averaging 32 in BE games now.

Probable? Maybe not...but still possible.

That is a sh!t-ton of points in a major hoops conference with a lot of proud defensive-minded coaches. That's crazy if he can find a way to pull it off.

I doubt either player really cares that much. I'm sure both would happily watch the other sweep the personal honors in exchange for taking home a few team trophies.

Watching Marquette / Johnnies. Howard is a better shooter than Powell for sure. The kid is just money all day long.

Gimme the guy that doesn’t fall to the floor crying bloody murder if you breathe within 8 feet of him. Powell 200%.

+10000

Powell is a Big East player through and through. He’s tough as nails.

Sorry to Howard and also Ryan Arch, but it’s hard for me to respect players who throw their head back Everytime they drive to the hoop to try and get a call. It’s one of my biggest basketball pet peeves and Howard is a repeat offender

MPs team members love him, MHs team members abandon him? Seriously though, MVPs go to the player on the better team and Seton Hall is hot right now. Still a lot of this bloodbathketball conference season still.

He's "5'11" and actually closer to 5'9. Has it dawned on you that getting mauled by guys much bigger actually throws someone to the ground?

I mean I'm 5'8" and was boxing at middle weight toward the end of my career against guys 5'11+ And it was very noticeable the difference in getting hit at that weight vs welterweight. I can't imagine essentially going up against heavyweights (even if it's just pushing and such not punches)

Not saying he doesn't flop (every basketball player does even you East coasters' precious Powell) but maybe you're making an unfair comparison to guys who are 6inches taller and 20+ LBs heavier

We gonna pretend Powell doesn't try to draw fouls all game every game? That's pretty rich.

As an old-timer, I could do without ever seeing another head whiplash after a bump or a guy flailing to the court after shooting a three pointer. Not sure when these oversells became part of the game, but too many of the really good players beg for calls with this crap.

I agree. The only way it will change is if it doesn't get rewarded by the refs. I'll add guys flying to the floor to draw charges in there too. So annoying watching a post player try to back down a defender, then the defender times a bump and crashes to the ground like they were hit by a car. Over 90% chance it's called a charge with a flop and under 1% it's called without a flop. The flop becomes a prerequisite for the call to be made which is so stupid.
