I think the guy is an aaack fan that's acting like a ditched exgf.

I do wholeheartedly agree that Wichita State is more fitting to that southern conference than uconn.

We all know UConn will be a contender next year. They'll get back to being UConn once they return home.

And hey, if they don't they'll still be a major addition to our conference with their brand name, large fan base, improved TV ratings, etc. They'll help our next TV contract, attendance, etc.

not a great sign for the conference if wichita state is the "replacement" for uconn

If UCLA had to play in the MWC for six years, they would have taken a big step back too.

Power Conferences are led by power programs. UConn was the only power program in their league. We are gaining another power program, leaving the band of misfits without a single championship level program.

And to think they didn't even need to leave the pac-12...

Ok that’s funny. Now mods grow a pair and delete this thread, ban Sam and Stever for gods sake and let’s get back to talking about major conference basketball. Big East is #1, answers to NOBODY, including the ACC, just owned the B12 and ownn a ridiculous record vs the entire F5.

Shit!

Jim Calhoun would’ve won in the MWC

Kevin Ollie won a Natty in the AAC.

Virtually every AAC team passed UConn by because they aren’t elite without Jim Calhoun. If you think otherwise, you’re in for a surprise. I can’t blame you for trying to debate UConn into existence/relevance.

I like UConn for what they were. However, anyone watching them for a long time knows that Calhoun was an enormous part of that equation; and you can’t replicate that. (At least that’s what the data seems to be saying)

I can't keep AAC logic straight anymore. As recent as the Spring, I kept getting told from AAC fans that UConn was a national basketball brand with championship history and that Hurley would get them back to the top shortly. They also said that they were a power program, and that they gave league elite potential.

Funny how quickly the tide changes. I guess UConn is no longer a power program since they left the AAC.

News flash, it is never a good look when a team leaves a conference. Never. A school either finds a better opportunity elsewhere or they get kicked out for not being a fit (ala Temple). Tin-foiled hat-wearing fans can tell themselves anything they want to rationalize their school's place in the pecking order.

That’s ok.

Gtmo has been saying for years we need a Bonaventure-esque doormat to sop up losses while propping up conference records of everyone else.

On the brighter side, the lady Huskies are still kicking ass:

Top-ranked UConn eases past SMU 80-42 - The Associated Press - 2 hours ago
Christyn Williams scored 21 points and Megan Walker added 15 as the Huskies eased past SMU 80-42 to remain undefeated heading into Thursday's showdown against No. 6 Baylor in Hartford. The Huskies (12-0, 3-0 American) never trailed and led by as many as 40 points in running their record in AAC regular-season games to 105-0. In their 11 meetings with SMU, the margins of victory have ranged between 61 and 33 points.

Unfortunately for UConn, Dan Hurley is no Jim Calhoun.
