A game or 2 over .500 after their return may not do it - if they don't get any results without them, they need to prove they're a completely different team with them.

Lets say for sake of discussion they lose to Maryland but beat Prairie View. They are 7-5.. I think anything less than 10-8 and the record gets to a point where it just can't happen. I mean 9-9 and you're 16-14. I don't think they get that much of a pass. Anything more than 10-8 and you're in regardless of the injuries. 18-12 with that schedule? Yeah, pretty easy seeing that in.

The really interesting one is if they finished 10-8 to get to 17-13. Might need a BET win to solidify the spot.

A lifelong goal of most Creighton fans is a Sweet 16. :? .

Ha! Ceiling should be much higher. Great program, rabid fanbase, awesome arena, although my boy gtmo doesn't seem to be a fan, great coach, not to mention you run a CLEAN program, no reason Creighton can't make the Sweet 16 once every few years, with a year here and there where there is National Championship talk. I honestly feel UConn's addition is only going to further help recruiting throughout the Big East and it's going to become more and more realistic for more Big East teams to be making the Sweet 16 on the reg.

Chestrockwell85...My man. Thank you for stating the facts. CU's fanbase is still living in the MVC and shy away from today's reality, preferring to couch their "realistic" expectations within the framework of 8-15 y/o Valley expectations. The fear of stretching, striving, and competing on todays Big East level is beyond the majority my CU brethrens' horizon. Unfortunately a majority are still in the MVC era and driving ahead while looking in their rearview mirrors.

PS: All Big Mac has to do to shut me up is WIN...a RS and BET and make a couple of NCAA runs. I'll shut up and be a happy camper. Can ol Mac do it? His history says no.

I wouldn't be comfortable at all at 10-8 unless the scenario's something like starting 0-6, getting Powell (hopefully doesn't miss that many games) and Mamu back, then finishing 10-2. And of course anything less than that would need the same sort of drastic split to be even remotely possible.

I think 18-14 with a BET win and you're pretty safe.

Think you gotta bank on 1-2 with Depaul winning and Prov/StJ losing - but after last night anything’s possible.

Then the other 4 are toss ups. Will be satisfied with 3-4, happy with 4-3 and either really disappointed or super pumped with anything else.

Nova and Butler have big opportunities for statement wins.

There are probably a few pick em games but I would suspect that the Depaul game is the only one where we would be favored (maybe Butler?)....
