I have always been a fan of Wichita because on top of being a good basketball team, great attendance etc. they also would be a good travel partner for Creighton.

One of the best decisions made was to hold at ten and not go to twelve. It developed rivalries, made all the schools in the league better and was far more entertaining. Eleven should be the absolute limit. Round robin 20 game schedule is perfect and UConn is really the only school out there that made sense from a competitive standpoint and footprint standpoint. No other school warranted any consideration at all except Gonzaga who was rightfully dismissed as to remote.

If UConn had come in at the beginning, I don't think they bring their NCAA credits with them. Could be wrong, but I think they belong to the conference that became the AAC.

You can't say Dayton and VCU add to the NCAA credits; it they went and earned some, other BE teams who did earn, may not have gone.

The C7 took their credits with them as part of the separation with the original league. UConn likely would have brought theirs as well.

UConn coming along may have been good for the conference. Adding any other teams at the outset probably would have hurt perception wise. At the time Xavier and Butler were considered major programs playing in mid-major conferences while Creighton was just outside of that. VCU and WSU were pretty similar to Creighton but had the public school thing hanging over them and I believe FOIA was more of a concern at the time due to how secretive everything was in the beginning. SLU and Dayton were institutional fits but then you're adding true mid-majors and that hurts the perception. I think if you add Dayton and SLU at the outset the tv contract takes a hit. Even if everyone does exactly what they did just in the BE I think we would still be fighting the mid-major label as a league that was half made up of schools from those conferences.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I still think this would be our best "final form"

I like the round robin better than I like that map.

It was correct decision to stay at 10, then 11 with uconn, but they need to be monitoring these A10 schools. The door isn't slammed shut forever.

Adding an A10 school would be atrocious at this point.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.
