Not a great weekend against the F5. DePaul continues to represent with a road win against BC but the Johnnies fall to Arizona State for the third time in three seasons. Both Nova and Xavier fall on Sunday to the Big XII and SEC. But plenty of more opportunities to feast on starting tonight with Butler.

Mon. 11/25 - Butler vs. Missouri
Tues. 11/26 - Butler vs. Oklahoma / Stanford
Wed. 11/27 - Seton Hall vs. Oregon
Fri. 11/29 - DePaul vs. Minnesota
REST OF WEEK TO BE DETERMINED

vs. ACC 1-1
vs. B1G 3-6
vs. SEC 2-1
vs. XII 1-1
vs. PAC 0-1

Total 7-10

Go Big East!

Our record vs the F5 this year is a bit misleading since we're undefeated vs the A10/AAC (which wasn't the case last year- Seton Hall for instance lost to St. Louis at home but beat them this year away). Off the top of my head, we've won neutral games against UConn and UMass, and also away at St. Louis. At least 2 of those 3 are good wins.

Not that I am in favor of changing the parameters (like a certain ex-poster here), because then it'd become impossible to manage these threads. For instance, should the WCC be included, or just Gonzaga/St. Mary's? Should Buffalo have been included last year, but then dropped this year? Do we cap at top 100 teams, and then go back throughout the season and retroactively change records? And then should we remove bottom feeder F5 teams? Etc, etc. Of course not. The current setup is the best setup.

Just getting out in front of certain posters who would see 7-10 and start to panic as it doesn't reflect our overall resume but is rather just one metric of many. We are currently #4 in RPI, which is the best way of measuring our overall success (until conference NET becomes available).

There should be no panic. There are years we will do better than others and there are still a lot of games to play. This is an F5 post because we were told that without Big Football we would never be able to compete in hoops. We have done extremely well.

I agree. Also, up to you but adding UConn and their 2-0 record against the F5 wouldn't hurt. ;)

This thread is about perception more than anything, and although we won't get tournament credits from UConn this year we will get all the positive exposure. Actually even more than usual, since AAC fans will still need to pay close attention to them.

Who would've thought last year that UConn and DePaul would be the top teams against the F5 through the first couple weeks?

UConn is not in the conference yet so we don;t count them. No need to try to skew the results. They are what they are.

Butler and DePaul are going to single handedly put the BEast on top. Nice win by the Dogs. Either Oklahoma or Stanford tomorrow.

Wed. 11/27 - Seton Hall vs. Oregon
Fri. 11/29 - DePaul vs. Minnesota
REST OF WEEK TO BE DETERMINED

vs. ACC 1-1
vs. B1G 3-6
vs. SEC 3-1
vs. XII 1-1
vs. PAC 0-1

Total 8-10

Lol I am not trying to skew the results as I've stated the same since day 1 in the game threads here (so I wouldn't need to check the AAC scores each day to see if they're playing). I'll also disagree about them not being in the conference yet. Legally speaking they're in the conference already. They've signed the paperwork and have a $30 million exit fee (even higher than the rest of us). The better they are this year the better they should be next year, so I do feel it's important for them to win this year. I see them as similar to a Georgetown where they are on the cusp of being Top 25 caliber, but who knows if they'll take the next step or regress again.

Anyways it's your thread so your call, but personally I'd see us at .500 (10-10) now as I think that's how most people would see UConn's wins this year. Seems like most AAC fans are already rooting against them even for OOC play, the same way all of us rooted against Syracuse and Louisville on their way out.

Actually looking now, UConn only has one F5 game remaining. Their schedule:
Vs Florida W
Vs (n) Miami W
Vs (n) Indiana TBD Dec 10

Too bad they only have one more game, as their AAC schedule likely won't have many high exposure opportunities outside of Memphis. On the other hand, it's nice that Butler and DePaul stacked their schedules with F5 opponents. Butler has a tough one against 7-0 Stanford at 9:30 tomorrow.
