Nice win Butler.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Not a pretty win, but didn't let a physical team get us down and kept fighting. Had a lot of problems with teams like that last year...

X may have to win games via rock fights this year. Still think Scruggs can be an effective shooter but this team is built more for old time BE style of play. Play physical D, be opportunistic, and win by wearing teams down.

We aren’t going to be “poetry in motion oriented” like you guys.

I still hope they find their range to a better degree.

Nice wins by X and Butler. Creighton has some work to do, we need an alpha dog, maybe Mahoney is the guy but hes not eligible till December. We shall see....

Unless Steele changes something up, X won't make the tournament.

I am a big believer in group dynamics and all that entails. Xavier has a leadership problem. Scruggs and Goodin both want to be the alpha dog and both have some critical flaws in their games that prevent them from doing so. Personally, I would love to see Steele just choose one to start and make the other backup and go from there. The only other option is the freshman KyKy Tandy being so good that Steele gives him the keys to the team, but that seems like hopeful thinking.

this team had us down 29 and beat us by 15 at this time last year and we ended up a brian o'connell block/charge away from the tournament. kentucky lost to evansville and auburn barely snuck past south alabama. take it in perspective. Mizzou is #31 in KP with the #11 defense. This was a very good win. We have problems no doubt, but I don't think we'll miss the tournament because of a close win over mizzou. Heck, we'll probably move up in the polls with st. mary's losing.

This looked like what most people consider "Butler basketball." Tough as nails D - not afraid to go up against a more athletic team and take them out of their game. Good March win for the Bulldogs, Minnesota may not make the tournament, but they'll have some good wins this year.

I was sort of highlighting how badly we shot and how well we played defense at the same time. to shoot that poorly and still win means we defended our asses off.

in fact it may have been our best defensive game ever.

you're right about our style of play and thats largely how we played at the end of last year when we went on our run. it's how we have to play. this team will shoot better though. moore and carter will get more comfortable within the offense, kyky will get healthy, bishop will get more comfortable, and naji, q, and paul will adjust to the new line. we also won't play anyone as good defensively as mizzou until we play you guys. i don't think we're gonna be a great shooting team at any point, but we're better than we've shown so far. If they can improve the shooting to merely mediocre and maintain this defense, we're gonna be really freaking good.
