Powell's a dirty player to. He got away with BS practically assaulting Sacar Anim when we played Hall last year the second time.

So I guess you also consider every MU player who ever picked up a flagrant 1 a dirty player too, right? Good for Anim, his entire job in that game was to bait Powell and he eventually succeeded got a reaction out of him.

But if that's where we want to go, at least Powell didn't cause 2 of his teammates to transfer.

Not trying to take sides but ouch! Hall has a point. Marquette is going to be very good this year but if those 2 stuck around they could have been special. Obviously no inside information to what goes on at Marquette but it seems Howard definitely played a role in those 2 transferring. Obviously there was a problem with team chemistry and that is a red flag as far as I'm concerned. Again, would take Powell over Howard and this is coming from a guy who watched Villanova lose to Seton Hall in Jersey last year and trust me when I tell you that Powell was talking a PLETHORA of shit all game. Fired me up but love the way the guy competes.

Again Joey's sensitive ego is the main reason. It put Sam in a bad position and go from there. Idk how you take a guy who had a hot season out of nowhere vs the guy that's been the main focus on scouting reports for three seasons and still put up the best high major scoring numbers in the country but different strokes.

It's not too close if you consider what happened down the stretch last year, especially in March. Powell was possibly the hottest player in the country. Howard was the usual gun but cold % wise going 39-114 in March while losing 5 of the last 6 games. Head to head vs the Hall even worse 3-26 in the 2 losses. I assumed that's why the Hauser's bolted.

Howard didn't look the same after his injury vs. Nova. Until then he was the best player.

Powell averaged 11 ppg as a freshman, 16 as a sophomore and 23 as a junior. Not sure how that’s considered “coming out of nowhere”.

Joey was the cause of the transfer not Howard. You have an immature kid with a sensitive side and huge ego, a brother who's in a bad position of defending his younger brother when getting called out for bad D and idiotic turnovers. Also no the reason it's dirty is because he knew it'd take Anim out of the game, play physical and get back but an elbow to the face is dirty as hell and you guys got home cooking by them calling the co foul on us as well.

First of all, he got him in the chest, not the face. And how did it take Anim out of the game? The tech was his first foul of the game and he kept playing. And home cooking? HA! Only through golden glasses was Anim's first tech not fully deserved - he was in Powell's face chirping and giving him cheap shots behind the ref's back the entire game to that point - eventually he unfortunately got the retaliation he was fishing for. They really should have T'd Anim up earlier, which likely would have prevented the entire boil-over.

Wow shocked they picked Powell over Howard if only because Howard won it last year.
Also shocked Seton Hall edged out Nova as the Favorite.

Rest of the First team:
Alexander. Baldwin. Diallo. Howard. Marshall.

Second team:
Akinjo. Figueroa. Gillespie. Heron. Reed. Samuels

Honorable Mention Team:
Scruggs. Yurtseven

2nd team- Alexander, Heron, Scruggs, Reed, Watson.

In the mix- The G-Town 4, LJ, Ballock, Jones, Gillespie and the obvious blue chip freshman

Don't forget, Big East actually names six "first teamers". The POY and then 5 on the first-team.

It will be interesting to see how the Howard-Powell voting shakes out.

How will it be interesting? Howard's the reigning BE POY, a returning first team AA, A preseason POY candidate, and has been on All big east teams his whole career. Powell had a sudden run to First team last year.

Any coach that votes Powell over Howard at this point is a lunatic

Ouch.
