I assume your little pep talk is directed at the other 8 teams because here on Victory Pkwy it's not needed. X has an impressive 20 year run in March including the 5 tourney appearances since joining the BEast. A S16 and an E8 in 5 trips certainly qualifies as "making noise". Granted, we have 3 Elite 8's and a host of S16's but have yet to make a Final Four. In fact X has the most Tournament wins nationally in that time period w/o getting there BUT the Big East affiliation is the missing piece in making it happen.

Pretty sure that X fans have done more chirping in this one thread, than us Nova fans have done the entire last 6+ years.

I started my last post with, "Big East is in good shape this year, Lunardi predicting 7 teams to dance. Xavier is really in good shape, great recruiting." I am very optimistic about Xavier and think you have been very consistent. With that, stop pounding your chest about runs in March that only Xavier fans will remember.

I don't need to tell you what Villanova has done recently. The Big East OVERALL has been very subpar in March. I am not wrong.

PS - I love how you took "Xavier is really in good shape, great recruiting" out of my message so you could talk smack. Well done. Not there yet bud.

Thanks all for the discussion and thanks to the Nova contingency for the pep talk. I needed that. Our 2020 recruiting finally got a bump, but then 2021 took a big hit over the weekend. Thanks fellas.

Agree that we collectively need to improve our performance in March - well... all of us Except all-world X that is. However I am expecting the Muskies to cool off their jets this season.

Hey Chesty! Hey Westy! Hope u 2 are well and prosperous.

I left it out because YOU TORCHED any sincerity you may have had with the last sentence of your post.

Maybe so but only because of the realities of the upcoming season. You guys had a good team last year and added some more hardware BUT there is no argument that it was easily your worst season, record wise, since the NBE begain.....AND you lost both of your top 2 players from said team. Meanwhile X and most everyone else is back at fully loaded.

Of course there is something to this "until someone shows they can" mentality and "our guys are gonna make a huge jump" but facts are you're thin and unproven compared to several other rosters.

Xup... I would concur on unproven for the new guys. I think its a stretch to say thin implying a lack of talent or depth. IMO... I think by the time the BE play comes around there will be a lot of talent demonstrated on the Nova team.

Is it atypical in terms of experienced players on the floor, sure? Will they run through the league like previous years? Nope--may not even win it, but will sure be in the thick of it...Seton Hall to me is the biggest threat to win it outright. You guys will be in the mix, no question.

But, count Nova out at your own peril. It has been done time and time again with each change of leadership. The program keeps chugging along. Trust me, as much as I want to say we are 1 year away from another monster team that will contend for a FF and #1 ranking, I don't want to sell this team short. Contrary to some chatter here, Nova fans are excited and intrigued by this team and their anticipated growth and development, there is no angst. Nobody is going to want a piece of Nova come BET and Dance time.

And what exactly has the current X roster "proven?" That they can make the NIT?

X fans writing checks that their team has to cash... we'll see how that works out for you guys. Seems to me a bit too much hype for a team that didn't even make the dance last year. My guess is, if the order remains the same and the annual X beat down continues, all these X fans will be conspicuously absent.

I admire X fans and program for keeping the pedal to the medal and making things interesting, I’m hopeful the Jays will get back some of that swag we had when we joined the conference. If UCONN has a great year they’ll come in Guns a-blazin
