Katz fell unexplainably in love with this team at some point last year and I'd say is still excessively high on them. Don't get me wrong, I think Seton Hall has a great team this year, but a 2 seed would be dream land.

You should shout from the rooftops Katz's adoration for SH. Go out & recruit Rothstein and Zagoria as well. NY writers ought to be echoing Andy's opinions. Expectations should be looking for the Pirates to knock it out of the park this season. The excitement should be palpable. You've got a good team this season...no time for waffling or timidity. Go for it!

Those 2 losses to Cr8n aren't going to hurt SH's dance bid.

You've been reading too much Rothstein.

Look no further than our prodigal brothers to the north about what a dynamic AA guard can do for you come March. I think the key is having a second option. Kemba needed Lamb. If Cale takes a big jump forward then SHU has got a real shot at a run.

What I think Katz recognizes is that the BE is going to be a really good conf this year. Any team that can win this league is going to be a top 8-12 seed at worst. He believes that SHU will be that team. Hardly a stretch; there’s real reason to be optimistic in North Jersey this year.

I don't disagree, but I also think the strength of the conference is going to make it difficult for anyone to put together a record that can get them a top 2 seed. Add in SHU's brutal non-conference and there's a ton of opportunities for impressive wins but it's tough to see a road to 25+ wins (I believe the fewest for a 2 seed last year was 27 going into the tournament).

I can only explain this soooo many times, none of us give two craps about the regular season "championship" we will all get our whack at them at MSG no matter how anybody's year goes. Now of course we all want to win every game but bragging rights is the tournament. Go look at the BE 30 for 30. It is all BET with a couple 1 versus 2 regular season games. The BET is legend. I don't know of one person in the older schools that could tell you with absolute certainty who won the regular season if it wasn't their team. Of course I can guess Nova has won it every year of the new BE and I would probably be right. I can of course tell you who won the BET in any year you ask.

I'll take a Big East regular season title over the BET title any day of the week. Proven champ over 18, soon to be 20 games vs. A three day tournament.

The BET title will get you an extra feather in your cap, but the committee for the most part doesn't put a ton of stock in the conference tournaments.
