Sure. A few X fans mix it up here, so the entire Xavier fanbase must be dislikeable. Okay.

I'm still trying to figure out whether or not some of these posts are meant to be taken seriously.

C'mon Gumby, they're returning 4 starters from their NIT team! That's big stuff!! I don't know how anyone else will be able to keep up!

You do realize that 3 of the 4 started for the BE CHAMPIONS right? No, probably just selective memory.

I don't remember Xavier ever winning a Big East Tournament? Nobody cares about the regular season title, it's just for BET seeding.

Wait...I didn’t think X fans even knew what a Final Four was.

They barely know what a BE championship feels like, they got one blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile one. While we have won 9 of 12 BE & BET titles, a couple of Natty's and they're talking ish. That A-10 flagship is nothing but a BE ankle biter.

Since when were we all supposed to start caring about the BE Regular Season "Title" I seriously missed the memo.

No shame in that, dude was on fire - as he was for most the season.

I'll take returning 4 starters from an NCAA Tournament team over returning 4 starters from an NIT team every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Just a page ago you were faulting a Nova fan for only using "resent" (I think you meant recent) stats and yet you just turned around and did the same to proclaim yourselves a top 20 program? Top 20 programs have championships, or title game appearances... or final fours... or more than the same amount of elite 8s as Loyola Chicago.

C’mon now. The Westbrook post was so far detached from reality in it’s insinuation, that facts were needed to smack it down. Probably just a nervous attempt at being funny.

As far as X a Top 20 program...hard to argue unless your talking pre-1980.

So again you want to create select parameter for your team. In that time sInce 1980 UNLV, Duke, UNC, UConn, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, UCLA, Kansas, Villanova, Michigan, Michigan State, Georgetown, Louisville, Syracuse, Ohio state, Arizona, and Indiana have all been to as many or more final fours, let alone championships, as you guys have elite 8s. That's just off the top of my head do you really think you're number 20 and I can't research for 30minutes during lunch and find another team with at least 3 final fours since then?

EDIT: Oklahoma also has snagged 3 final fours in that span so I'd take them over you guys as well. Admittedly that was the second team I looked up and not off the top of my head.

I believe this list cut off in 2012 but it's actually a pretty fair methodology which should give you better context of where you stand by decade.

http://espn.com/blog/collegebasketballn ... -34-xavier

Bottom line is X has a great history but you're proclaiming things without any context of what other teams have done during that time. It'd be like a Chicago guy saying "the bulls were the best in the NBA since Jordan was drafted we made the conference finals 5 times and won the championship 6 times!" Ok but the lakers won 9 plus a ton of championship game appearances. It doesn't take away from the bulls it's just they aren't as good during that time span when you look at other teams

nova fans realizing they lost their two best players, one of their prized recruits just had shoulder surgery and they'll have to rely on collin gillespie to run the team

Actually, this little tickle fight is nothing more than cheap entertainment, which is fine. The real bragging rights will be dished out soon enough. Within reason, stats always can be/are manipulated to suit ones point of view...basic human nature and I am certainly bias.

On a serious note, obviously us Xavier fans are jacked about this team. The possibility of having FIVE 1000 point scorers on the floor at the same time is very rare and bodes well for great success. The fact that Coach Steele found his coaching legs and paired that with reeling in the 5 big fish recruits, expectations are through the roof.

Let’s hope that everyone stays healthy in the BEast and then make some real noise in the tournament.
