At the same time they fail to realize that the biggest brand in the Big East, Georgetown, hasn't contributed anything since realignment.
It wasn't that long ago that the Hoyas were a consistent top 10 team and with Ewing steering the ship they are poised to be back where they belong.

1.) Hurley's addition will give the league another charismatic coach, that was a trademark of the old league, to go along with Ed Cooley, and to a lesser extent, kevin willard, patrick ewing, and jay wright. Hurley seems to be in the rollie massimino, lou carnessecca mold.
2.) UConn's primary color is blue. vitally important to the leagues integrity and mission

I was involved in that argument. I just need to stop posting over there lol!
To summarize...a Houston fan claims that he thinks the increased ticket sales (over 3,000 season tickets were renewed after the Big East announcement for the men and women) is really smoke and mirrors, and that Uconn fans were going to come back in droves this year because the men will likely be a tournament team. Even as a UConn supporter...this is a borderline tournament at best. Unless everything breaks right for them this year.
I argued that it had EVERYTHING to do with Uconn going back to the Big East. Uconn modified their season ticket system this year, requiring a seat donation (similar to a PSL in football) to keep your seats this year and every year going forward. These were especially expensive in the lower bowl at both the XL Center and Gampel. A lot of fans had flat out said they were giving up their season tickets after 20 + years because of the increased cost, and because people don't want to come see UConn play the Tulane's, Tulsa's and East Carolina's of the world.
Suddenly the talks are revealed between the Big East and Uconn, and within a week we have the huge increase of ticket sales. Suddenly people didn't care about the seat donations.
To put it mildly, AAC fans are not the brightest. And boy are they bitter!

On the same token, it irks me when people say Nova's success is the direct result of the obe breaking up. No, Nova probably would have still ruled the obe from 2014-present. 48-6 over 3 year span? No, but still would've been the best team in the conference getting #1 and #2 tourney seeds.
