They had a couple Interesting notes in this article talking about the Mountain West upcoming TV deal negotiations.

In reference to the new AaAAAAAAaC deal:

"The fine print: Most games will be on ESPN+, a pay web service ($4.99 per month) with only 2 million subscribers, rather than linear or “real” TV; schools are responsible for on-campus production costs, which some estimate could lower their net annual take by as much as $2 million; and the deal is for 12 years, when technology may change and media rights might be worth more and Div. I athletic budgets will undoubtedly have soared."

How are you suppose to afford to keep playing FBS football when you are only making 1.1M? That probably doesn't even cover the travel costs for a lot of these teams.

"Members currently get $1.1 million per year and have little control over days or times when games are televised on linear channels like CBS Sports Network and ESPNU."

And that $2 Mil per year production cost doesn't include start-up infrastructure. AAC schools are gonna have to spend millions before they produce a single event.

That billion dollar ($7 Mil per year) deal is a total farce.

It's a brilliant strategy by ESPN. The fans of the schools in the AAC essentially subsidize the cost of the agreement by paying an additional fee for ESPN+ and then the schools are responsible for production.

FS1 please step up and give UCONN football coverage. It would be awesome if the coverage was such that F5 as well as all the top Indy and G5 teams from the AAC and MWC want to do H&Hs with the Huskies so they get out from under their paywalls

I don't want us to have to call in any favors for UConn to get better TV coverage for its FB team. Thats their problem, I don't want us losing any political capital on UConn FB.

If he truly believes you need to be all in on FBS football to be successful at basketball he's a moron.
