Might be comparing apples and oranges, but Big East fans used to throw banana peels on the floor when Ewing was being introduced. That Xavier excuse is weak if you ask me.

Didn't ask you. You are comparing apples and oranges, with bananas.

Please spare me this discussion good lord. Xavier doesn't want to do home and homes with Dayton anymore. Who cares? Xavier fans aren't admonishing Georgetown for not scheduling a home and home with VCU every year or Villanova with lasalle every year

It is weak but their go to talking points as you can see here Christi is over it, she loves UD.

Wow a couple of drunks at a game said something inappropriate, what's next dog bites mailman for Tom Archdeacon's next drama story! LOL

FWIW Creighton fans shouldn't hate Wichita because we owned them in our series with them but their hatred for us by a couple posters really rubbed us wrong... so I see how a couple bad apples can ruin the whole bunch (yeah).

Had to go back and laugh at this one from before they joined the AACK in 2017. What a moron.

The Big Pee is absolutely trending down. They made a little noise with a bounty of at-large bids (winning very few NCAA games) based on a mirage - aka RPI hacking strategy - which was cute (the MVC did the same back in 2006 and finished 4th in RPI in the country). But the general public isn't stupid, they know the Pee is nothing but the dregs of the old Big East and a couple new mid-majors sprinkled in for filler.

Villanova, a poor man's version of UCONN, is now the leader of this new church conference and should be able to continue to win as long as nothing really crazy happens inside the program; i.e. sexual deviancy charges. Eventually the Pee will settle around 2-3 bids a year (in a strong year) with the AAC settling around 4-5. The AAC just has bigger brands than Pee, and while a couple are currently down, they'll be back. If current National Power Wichita State continues on their expected trend, this reality of a 4-5 bid average will happen sooner rather than later.

Considering the fact that the AAC plays football, preference will be made to broadcast AAC games in all sports on the major networks where a contract is signed... over Church League ball. When the Fox Sports contract runs out, it will surely be renegotiated lower as it's been a net loser for Fox. Priest-ball started off with a bang, but fizzled quickly as the brand recognition of the Big East name had an expiration date - which just happens to be quickly approaching. All the low-information basketball fans have been tuning in (after they locate the channel) to Big East games saying, "WTF?! Where is Syracuse, UCONN, Pitt, Notre Dame, Cincy, Louisville, etc." They soon realize they're watching a game of Suburban H.O.R.S.E. between the Omaha BJ's and Seton Fail and they're like... *click* *click* *clickity* *click*

Thoughts?

The "church league" insults crack me up. As if religious schools haven't had massive success in basketball.

You act as though that was just some isolated incident. I can tell you from first hand experience, as I’m sure several other X fans on here can, that how Christi was treated during that game, with the way over the top verbal abuse, was a common experience for Xavier fans who attended games at UD Arena. That’s not even mentioning the regular threats of physical violence coming from UD fans and the cars of Xavier fans being vandalized in the parking lot surrounding the arena.
Xavier’s administration, athletic department, and even Travis Steele, remember these instances all too well.

I've attended many games at UD Arena involving X and UD and never witnessed anything like what you & others routinely repeat. I've given my season tickets to Xavier fans for the XU-Dayton game, I've sold other tickets to X fans to NCAA games at the Arena at face value, 1 a rather famous game vs St' Joes. Never have any of those fans repeated anything like this to me, my last words on the subject. My post was answering anothers questions, no to banter with X fans. Have a great 4th! God Bless America!

Exactly.

This is yet another example of a typical Dayton fan attempting to whitewash a very bad incident and otherwise hold UD up to some level of perception it does not justify. Just a couple of drunks were involved? No. Two people got kicked out, but they were not the only ones involved. Nice try.

A UD poster who states that UD is nationally admired or something like that for running its program the right way fails to admit that Dayton has been on probation and that, among other incidents, it had a couple of basketball players sent to prison for violent acts against coeds on its campus.

Xavier doesn't want UD in the Big East because of the competitive advantage we now hold over them as a result of being a member of the Big East. Other Big East schools feel exactly the same way about certain other schools that are in proximity to them. Everything from fundraising to recruiting to capital improvements is strong across the board at Xavier thanks in large measure to our affiliation with the Big East. Sorry, but it is what it is; we earned it.

UD still cannot solve the A10 even in its diluted state. Frankly, that is downright embarrassing. The last time we played them we blew them off the floor in Orlando by 29 points. They haven't won in Cincinnati since 1980. They became a Little Brother and they didn't like it when we were in a conference with them and they still don't like it. Not all, but enough of their fan base evolved to react accordingly.

UD would truly add nothing to the Big East, especially as compared to other options that we now have the luxury of waiting for to see if they develop down the road.

Let's now move on to have the Creighton fans provide all their reasons for supporting the inclusion of Wichita State into the Big East.
