Summer 2019 - Big East - List Of Things To Do...

Things Completed:

Coaching:
- Retained Kevin Willard from Virginia Tech poaching (ACC).
- Retained Ed Cooley from Michigan poaching (Big Ten).
- Added Mike Anderson from Arkansas.

Expansion:
- Added Connecticut as our 11th team, joining either for 21 or 22 season.

Things In Place:
- the Big East Tourney is locked into Madison Square Garden thru 2028.
- Partnership with Fox Sports is locked in place thru 2025.
- Gavitt Games locked in thru 2024 (i think).
- Big East vs Big 12 Challenge thru...

NCAA Rules Changes:
- Three-point line will move back to international distance, an excellent decision in my opinion.

Upcoming Things:
- Pan-Am Games in August, featuring Cooley, Willard, Brown's Mike Martin, and a roster of Big East talent.

Future Hopeful Things:
- extend MSG partnership for BET into 2030's.
- extend Fox Sports partnership into 2030's.
- scheduling arrangement with Gonzaga in some manner.
- win National Championships and make Final Fours.
- continue to be minimum top-3 conference.
- within 5 years make Big East perennial top conference.
- BET, have 3-pt contest on Wednesday at noon.
- BET, have alumni game on Wednesday at noon, following 3-pt contest.
- monitor expansion candidates, though that is shelved for the time being til the NCAA increases allowable games to 34 (which i'm predicting will happen within next 5 years).
- get new administration at DePaul.

Logo and Uniform Things:
- ask for waiver to allow Marquette and DePaul to wear untucked uniforms, preferably the 1977 duds.
- ask DePaul to return to old logo of demon sitting on rim like he's taking a dump.

Arena Things:
- upgrade Carnesecca Arena and XL Hartford Civic Center.
- boost DePaul attendance.

Reduce Nova's Big 5 games to 2 per season.

Find a replacement for wojo.
Improvement of Providence and Georgetown previous freshman class.
Improved recruiting from everyone other than Villanova.
Seriously Nova is the only team in the top 25 recruiting rankings, with Xavier just squeaking in there. Shouldn't hurt the league next season but in a couple seasons it might show.
