Wow, surprised to see Creighton and Xavier with such a big lead. Obviously they have great fan support, however I think the poll here is misleading since their dedicated Xavier/Creighton forums aren't as active as others I've seen. I guess a lot of their fans post here for that reason.

Twitter is a good indicator but it does have flaws. For example, it depends on how many times they Tweet, how strong the alternative team accounts are (I follow Zach B from NY Post rather than the St. John's bball account), and a lot of other factors.

I think Instagram would be a better indicator since there would be fewer options for alternative accounts. Much tougher for fans or reporters to have relevant Instagram photos than it is to send out a Tweet.

Villanova beats every Big East team (both new and old). UConn is also very high on that list. Marquette, Georgetown, St. John's, Xavier, Butler and Creighton are above half of the former Big East members. That's 8/11 BE teams.

Those 8 members are also above the top old Big East AAC school. The top AAC member of the old Big East (Cincinnati) only beats Seton Hall, Providence and DePaul.
