I heard the Big East actually wanted UConn to join for the 19-20 season but they said not while Myles Powell's still there ;) 8-)

I expect this board to be rooting for UCONN in every AAC game this year. ;)

Absolutely! Run the table and let them know what they're losing!

yep, we all signed up today. Our Prez's were unanimous in their sigs, and so are we.

John Sebastian Ladies and Gentlemen:

Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket out
Welcome back, to that same old place that you laughed about
Well the names have all changed since you hung around
But those dreams have remained and they've turned around
Who'd have thought they'd lead ya
(Who'd have thought they'd lead ya)
Back here where we need ya
(Back here where we need ya)
Yeah we tease him a lot 'cause we got him on the spot
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
We always could spot a friend, welcome back
And I smile when I think how you must have been
And I know what a scene you were learning in
Was there something that made you come back again
And what could ever lead ya
(What could ever lead ya)
Back here where we need ya
(Back here where we need ya)
Yeah we tease him a lot 'cause we got him on the spot
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back
And I know what a scene you were learning in
Was there something that made you come back again
And what could ever lead ya
(What could ever lead ya)
Back here where we need ya
(Back here where we need ya)
Yeah we tease him a lot 'cause we got him on the spot
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back
Yeah we tease him a lot, welcome back, welcome back
Cause we got him on the spot, welcome back, welcome back
Yeah we tease him a lot 'cause we got him on the spot
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back

I think we should make UConn pay back their share of the money they took when we bought the conference name, history and MSG rights. They got all that money and now all the things we bought from them.

PAY IT BACK! PAY IT BACK! PAY IT BACK! PAY IT BACK! PAY IT BACK! PAY IT BACK! PAY IT BACK! PAY IT BACK!

maxpowers says UConn to the BE is akin to Texas to the Big 8, back in the day.. Over the years (they) UT ran out longstanding members and have
hosed the Big 12. Max thinks UConn will do a mini-Texas to the BE.

This is disappointing. Val Ackerman must have received consulting advice from Tom Shatel on this decision.

(Hopefully this is wrong) This reminds me of the Texas Longhorns abandoning the burning wreckage of the Southwest Conference in the mid-90s to merge with the old Big Eight. We saw what happened there. Texas used its outsized influence to dominate leadership until it drove core members away fifteen years later. They and the Big XII have been paying for it ever since. I could see UConn playing a miniature version of Texas in this scenario and having the same effect.

Short-sighted. Lacking imagination. Bad move.
