I have long refrained from praising Val for simply existing. When she took the job the TV contract had already been signed and the 3 expansion schools had already been decided.
Since then she has done a good job but also it hasn't been a hard job.

Until today, getting UConn back would be a huge deal and she deserves a ton of credit. So congrats to Val if these rumors are true!

No doubt. Pair that with UConn and she is reaally showing she can play with the big boys. The next TV contract will always he the ultimate metric. But still deserves props for this.

Val had what part of those 2 National titles? I think Jay Wright might have something to say about that. She deserves major props for those last 2, which is what this thread is for. Is every conference board as "group-think" as ours? The spectrum here seems to be universal praise for all things Big East or stever. Where are the nuanced criticisms, debates etc? The entire point of a message board.

MSG extension and UConn are easily her best work, but she also hasn't screwed anything up. Most commissioners make some bad/hasty decisions. She deserves credit for being very patient about everything and not adding a dead weight like Wichita St.

If the early reports were accurate, Fox will true up the contract for up to 2 additions.


Great move by the Big East, strong for men's basketball and amazing for women's.

As an aside, in addition to UConn and MSG, our non-revenue moves have been solid. Especially the Denver add for lacrosse.
