Maybe not top 25, but certainly NCAA tournament talent. While not as good on offense, they should be improved on defense, as was noted above. If Wojo can pick up a quality grad transfer, who knows!

Marquette really needs a good grad transfer or we are going to be talking all year about how they are just one piece away from being really good.

Just announced that Marquette has extended Wojo through 2023-24. I'm a little surprised considering the off season he just had, but I'm sure it is hard to recruit without those years on the contract.

7-foot, 235-pound Utah graduate transfer Jayce Johnson, who averaged 7.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per game last season. He will be eligible immediately and play one season for MU.

Imagine if the Hausers were still around, this guy would have pushed the team towards sweet 16 status. Unfortunately the school just gave wojo an extension.

So the 4th ranked player in the country just committed to Duke. He plays ball less than 30 minutes from Marquette, and the school couldn't get into his top 5. Smh :x whats worse is Madison was in his final list of schools, if Wojo doesn't reach the NCAA's next year he needs to go!

You can stop any analysis after the 1st sentence. Plenty of reasons to dislike Wojo, but this isn't one of them.

Holy Cross just named Marquette assistant Brett Nelson as their new head coach. Bill Carmody stepped down as coach, because his wife has a medical issue.

Do i have this right?:
Jalen Johnson - Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
Sun Prairie is 13 miles from Madison... 25 minutes.
Sun Prairie is 73 miles from Marquette... 67 minutes.
He grew up in a Madison suburb.

Why would it be surprising he'd favor Madison? He probably grew up as a Badgers fan.

And the Badgers top rival is Marquette, so would be a stretch to think he'd consider them.

He played at Nicolet High School several years. Which is in Glendale, he still plays there. Wojo always disappoints he should be competing with Madison for these guys.
