This is really bad...even for your standards.

Arizona lost 8 games by 9 pts or less. The total point spread in those 8 games = 54 pts. Only one of those games were by less than 5 points. Hardly nail-biters.
Arizona won 8 games by 11 pts or less. The total point spread in those = 48 pts. 5 of those games were by less than 5 points. So in their 6 closest games, they won 5 of them. So you're "little bit of bad luck kept them from being a good team" theory has ZERO merit.

Yeah so, a "bounce here or there" and Arizona is 13-19 and completely embarrassed by their season.

Dude, just be honest and stop trying to manipulate #'s to make your points. Do you think simple data like this is hard to confirm?

In terms of predictions sleep on Nova at your own peril.

Pointing to a single player--JQ--and surmising that this signals that Jay won't play Frosh is a faulty premise. As mentioned... Spellman, Brunson, Bey, Arch, Scottie Reynolds, Ray and Foye, Lowry. If you are good, and buy into the system, you'll play.

After watching JRE help his team capture the HS Nat. Championship, I don't see any way that kid isn't on the floor a ton. Huge talent. And he can stroke it from 3, so we will have 5 shooters out on the floor often (like the 2018 team). Love that. And Antoine, Moore and Dixon have all had monster Sr. seasons so I wouldn't be surprised if all of them contribute in some way. Secondly, the Frosh aside, guys like Swider and Slater will almost certainly make the Soph jump. Two big-time recruits that have been biding their time, developing and preparing for their time to shine.

What will be interesting is when Jay trots out a lineup of JRE (6'9"), Bey (6'8"), Swider (6'8"), Samuels (6'7") and Antoine (6'5"). Length and all can fire from 3. :)

We're just fine with talent. Ours to lose.

With basketball, a lot of the games that are in the 10 point range were in the 3-4 point range with a minute to go.... The Arizona/Baylor game a good example. With 30 seconds to go, it's a 5 point game. Baylor made 4 free throws in the final 30 seconds to make it a 9 point game. Sorry, but that's a nail biter...

Due to fouling, final point spread is meaningless. I'd guess at least 90% of games that were 8-10 point margin games were 4-5 point margin games with a minute to go.... Kind of like I don't know.... last night. 1 minute to go, Virginia is up by 2. They won by 8. Virginia outscored them 10-2 due to intentional fouling. Are you telling me that wasn't a nail biter?

I’d say it’s Marquette’s league to lose next year but it’s very difficult to trust them.

Imo I’d rank the big east teams to start the year:

12 - Marquette
15 - Villanova
18 - seton hall
20 - xavier
22 - creighton
28 - Georgetown
31 - providence
45 - butler
80 - St. John’s
95 - depaul

My predictions.

1. Villanova- Amazing freshman class, the juniors and sophmores will develop into solid starters, versatile at every position except point guard that will be the biggest question, will quinerly return? I think they finish comfortably in first.
2. Marquette- We all know they can score but can they actually guard good teams. We all saw what Ja Morant did. How will Koby fit in? We are set on the wings but will anyone step up to spell Theo John, Morrow does not cut it and Joey should not be playing center. Typical wojo team imo.
3. Seton Hall- They are set on the wings and point, I honestly think they are deeper than MU however MU has more firepower if you ask me. Also a big question who will step up to replace Nzie? Will Mamu develop his defensive game is Ike going to be the defensive pressence he is advertised as. When will Thompson develop into what he was supposed to be coming out of high school.
4. Xavier- That core of Goodin, Jones, Marshall, and Scruggs will all improve next year. With Steele getting his feet under him I think this team is a dark horse to get into the NCAA Kyky adds to their pg depth and Bishop to the wings. Biggest question is who will spell Jones, their wing and guard depth is decent, is there a grad transfer that can help at the 4 and 5 that i don't know about?
5. Creighton- Solid guard play and depth. Hopefully Epperson comes back and can contribute because otherwise it's just Martin in the post very thin frontcourt rotation if you ask me, Bishop shouldn't be playing PF, honestly seems like a team full of guards to me. They desperately need some size. Is there a grad transfer I'm missing?
6. Georgetown- They're guard play should be solid an offseason of development for Akinjo and McClung should do wonders. However will Yurtsevan be able to fill Govan's shoes also other than LeBlanc and Pickett there is no wing depth. They are bringing in 3 freshmen centers so maybe someone will be able contribute decent minutes. Their roster is very similar to Creighton, grad transfer?
7. Providence- This team honestly will go as high as Reeves and Duke take them. They can be a NCAA team if you ask me, if they develop their 3 point game and hit free throws they would be a shoe in. Their guard rotation is decent their wings also. I do see that Watson and Young will be relied on to much. They need a couple guys to spell them. They need Nichols and Monroe to step up and contribute Diallo can't play center. Pipkins will be huge upgrade over White and should add someone to steady the young guards. Also they're bringing in a 4 star wing in Gant and he is rated kinda high Diallo's replacement?

8. Depaul- Losing Strus, bringing in Weems and Jacobs.
9. Butler
10. St. Johns

Jbar:

1. Quinerly is gone already. I'd be very surprised if they finish comfortably in first
2. Ike Obiagu from florida state will replace nzie
3. We got Jason Carter from ohio. He'll play a lot of minutes at the 4. behind him there will be three freshmen and the word is that we're going to bring in another freshman guard/wing and another grad transfer before the season starts
4. they have bishop, krampelj, and epperson. that's pretty big
