Isn't Dixon a tcu alum. And supposedly he was going to finish his career there. Talk about zero loyalty.

So, what's the latest?
I'm seeing reports of:

UCLA's top choice is Dixon.
UCLA's 2nd choice is Mick Cronin.

If UCLA gets Dixon, then:
Virginia Tech gets Cronin.
Not sure if Willard is still under consideration?

Dixon is still negotiating with UCLA, trying to figure out how to deal with his $8 million buyout with TCU.

Any more up-to-date information from anyone?

From what I can gather, it sounds like Willard, Wojo, and Cronin are all under some degree of consideration by Virginia Tech. Of that group, I think Cronin is the only one who would most likely take the job. Willard and Wojo would both have a degree of interest (who wouldn't for the raise they would each get?) but a little more love (and $$) from their current schools would convince them to stay.

If I'm VT, I would definitely go after Ryan Odom. I think he would be an excellent long-term fit there.

With each passing day, I think it is more and more likely than Willard stays put.

Ok, that's good news. Just need The Hall to take care of Willard. It would suck if he left.

By my count, the Big East has lost seven head coaches, three of whom went on to other jobs. The AAC, by contrast, has lost a whopping thirteen coaches, with only two going on to other jobs. I would think that a conference would much rather be in a position of needing to replace successful coaches than consistently replacing unsuccessful ones.

The AAC didn’t lose those coaches though.
They were fired as the league built up programs.
Partner, Lebo, etc, all had to go.

They weren’t losing guys like Buzz Williams, Chris Holtmann, and Chris Mack.

Kevin Willard has removed himself from consideration from the VT job. I would have loved to have him in Blacksburg, but I understand the pain of losing a coach so I’m happy Seton Hall gets to keep their guy.
