I think one thing this year showed once and for good was that your record does matter.

As far as power 6 labels.....

How exactly did that help the Big East and hurt the AAC?

Labels are dumb as hell. In basketball they are utterly meaningless.

So do you see that as a statement by the committee against strong OOC schedules?

Where would the Hall be if its OOC was replaced with SJU's? The Pirates would lose their top 2 wins, but come into today at 23-10 instead of 20-13. If the answer his seeded higher, the committee has its priorities backwards IMO.

Seton Hall didn't exactly have a great OOC schedule. #104 OOC SOS.

Also, would have lost a bad loss to SLU in that removed, something that St John's didn't have(and saved them quite frankly- if they lost to Georgia Tech for instance, they're NIT).

St John's was 4-1 Q1-3 OOC. Seton Hall was 6-3 Q1-3 OOC.

If we did the switch, Seton Hall would still be 6-7 vs Q1, 6-3 vs Q2, and 3-1 vs Q3. And 22-11 overall. I could see it seeded higher quite frankly.

I don't particularly care who wants to step up and take the baton. let's just get it done fellas. That is all. Well, one more thing. Going to need the Johnnies to step up, take care of business against ASU and then take out everybody's darling Buffalo. That will get some attention and spoil a lot of brackets.

If the NIT Final Four doesn't look like 1985's Tourney FF, it will be a BIG disappointment as well. I fully expect 3 BE teams in NYC in a couple of weeks. :)

Considering the Big East has never once used the Power 6 label, while the AAC literally runs commercials labeling themselves as "POW6R" (for more than just football), this was well deserved. You claim to want unity against the P5, but your own conference is the one trying desperately to join that club and exclude others.

You're right in that the Selection Committee did not let labels alter their decisions. However, it must be a major embarrassment for the AAC having that graphic (and explanation) go up during the one night everyone pays attention to this stuff. That segment, in my opinion, was a lot more damaging than had Temple been excluded. Everyone with any sort of Big East or AAC tie is talking about it. Check out the Boneyard, for instance.
