Brutal four games for Jays fans. Ass kicking at BU. Give away vs Marquette. Blown lead vs Nova. Didn’t show up at St John’s.

If you guys kept going to Krampelj we would've been in more trouble. But at the same time switching from Heron to Clark guarding him seemed to help us a bit. Even the announcers were like why is Creighton going away from what worked? DePaul beat us without Ponds of course but the way they won was dominating us with big men. We can shoot well enough to neutralize most good shooting teams so the way to beat us is in the paint.

Really happy for the win. It felt like this was a must win with 4 of the next 5 on the road and the only home game is against Gtown who we barely beat in OT.

I love Shamorie but my favorite player is LJ Figueroa. Such a heady player and tremendous athlete.

Creighton fans, I can sympathize with your frustration. SJU fans are very familiar with it. Hang in there!

Well, MM, if you can figure that one out, let us know. There are many Jays fans asking the same damn question --- among many other.

The Jays are young. The Big East can be very unforgiving to young teams. You can see the talent on the squad and it just needs to mature a bit. This season may be a little tough but they'll be fine going forward.

The Marquette loss really changed everything for Creighton. A game they shouldn’t have lost, they really didn’t lose, and the outlook for the rest of the season would be much better with that win under their belt

I am curious - do Jays fans feel that McDermott is on the hot seat? I think he has done a really good job at Creighton, but fans sound like they are getting restless. I can't seem to find his contract details anywhere online.

At many schools he would be on the hot seat for underachieving year after year in March, but not at Creighton. For those who would like the administration to apply some pressure on him, they know that Mac is more or less best friends with the director so who do you go to?

I believe when he arrived from Iowa State, he was given a 10 year contract. Most believe that after the Ohio state interest, he was given more money and an extension. He’s gotten pretty comfortable and that has a lot of people worried. Mix in the negative press CU got from the Brian Bowen mess and his seat should probably be at least a little warm right now.

As an outsider looking in, he shouldn't be. Creighton has made the Tournament the past 2 years, and this is a rebuilding year. He sent a player to the NBA a few months ago. That's the type of stuff recruits care about, so he'll continue recruiting well.

It's easy to give into recency bias, but before last night the Jays won like 6 straight games against us. Unless McDermott became a worse coach the past few months, he deserves credit for what he's achieved at Creighton.

If next year the Jays don't make the Tournament, then it'd be time to discuss other options. No way he is canned after this year, though.

Be careful what you wish for. A new coach is very unlikely to win a lot of games year 1, even if they get off to the typical hot recruiting start. See: Marquette, St. John's, Memphis, UConn, Georgetown, Xavier, etc.

As long as McDermott keeps recruiting (something that a coach like Lavin stopped doing), you'll be fine.

Woah now adoraz I’ll have you know travis has us in sole possession of third place.

I agree on McDermott. I actually think creighton has been overachieving up to this point. They’re extremely young and will be very good in the coming years
