I know this is not going to be popular with St. John's fans.....

But really.....Sacred Heart??.....That was truly unwatchable.....

it was the Harlem Globe Trotters playing the "fix" game against whoever they are going/could beat by 50.....(and the announcer said that ST.J's has never not beat them by at least 35)

I turned it off after Ponds tried the between the legs football bounce pass on the fast break cross court for about 40 feet......REALLY????

Let's revue......Vill played CT.....Prov vs. Texas.....Seton vs. Maryland.....MU vs. Buffalo.....even DePaul vs. Boston College....AKA....GAMES OUR CONFERENCE SHOULD BE PLAYING!

I realize Mullen has a lot of new pieces and is trying to coalesce a team....But at an RPI SOS of 210 and KenPom SOS of 341????? and we all know the KenPom is more accurate! This is an EMBARRASSMENT !

Shoot next week.....Seton Hall and Marquette are in no win situations.....Either way....We play St. Johns and WIN or LOSE.....Our SOS goes down not because of who we played.....But who St. John"s has played or more importantly.....FAILED TO PLAY!

With this new NET......Out of Conference schedule's should be approved by the league office for MINIMUM QUALITY......Because this schedule is BIG EAST substandard......

Back in the day the MVC used to fine teams with a weak schedule. I don’t know how big the fine was or what the criteria was for determining the weakness of the OC schedule was but it was not a terrible concept.

Actually Seton Hall and Marquette- their SOS won't go down for playing St John's. Wouldn't have in RPI and won't in NET. If anything, I think the NET has less of an impact on everyone else than RPI did.

The idea that it is a no win situation for teams playing us is absurd. If we beat seton hall, we will absolutely be ranked going into that game with Marquette.

Reality is SJUs non conference schedule was a joke but they went 12-0 so no bad losses which is what they had to due with such a soft schedule.

The question is, will Seton Hall be ranked if they beat St. John's? Should be a great game!

Imagine if Xavier was still Xavier. Steele was set up to have a great team. Sruggs, Marshall, Jones, Goodin all 4 stars out of high school, that right there is a solid core. He had the players and with their schedule they could have been like Nova. Maybe Steele isn't cut out for this. They sure do miss Kaiser Gates though he would have been their best player. He has a couple 4 stars coming next year but I'm not sold on him. I would have gone after a midmajor coach like the guy who is at Buffalo.

Steele was not set up nicely, why do you think he had to find 3 grad transfers? Xavier lost a ton from last year, and the incoming FR class was not a strong one.

Didn't X lose a few players after Mack left? In addition to what they already was losing- which was quite a bit- Bluiett, Mancura, Kanter, O'Mara.

I know watching Steele vs Cincy a few weeks ago, I wasn't that impressed with him.

Xavier better get off to a decent conference start because their ending schedule is brutal...
Starting Feb 13
Creighton
@ Providence
@ Seton Hall
Villanova
@ St John's
@ Butler
St John's

could easily see Xavier going like 1-6 or 0-7 in those 7 games.
