2018-19 Bracketology Thread

Figured we could get this started as we're heading into the final couple weeks of non-conference. Lunardi's update from today below.

Some brutal 2nd round matchups. Butler/Kansas, St John's/Virginia, Villanova/Indiana, Marquette/Indiana, Creighton to just get 2nd round/Kentucky, then Wisconsin.

I do know Lunardi said he was starting to incorporate the NET into these some. You can see it.

btw- so strange to see San Francisco in the tourney currently. Don't know that I've EVER seen a bracketology with them in there.

I think Marquette and Seton Hall's a little low in this projection.

I just don't get the love for Seton Hall- calling them a little low. I mean they have 1 really good win- that's Kentucky. Also have 1 pretty bad home loss in Saint Louis.

For Marquette, I'm guessing one thing that's holding them back a bit is the fact they have all of 1 win away from home.

Then Creighton is puzzling. Yes they've had a tough schedule- but who have they really beaten? You shouldn't get credit just for scheduling tough teams.

11's a bit low, but NBD. The draw gives the Hall a clear path to a rematch with Kansas, this time in the elite 8 where the Pirates will get their revenge and move on to the Final Four!

I agree our resume isnt great but we have no bad losses and an ok win in clemson and some good wins against midmajors. If u look at Lunardi's last 8 in, alot of those teams havent beaten anyone either. Someone has to fill the bracket I guess...

That's a super secret algorithm, Stever, developed to confuse the easily confused (ahem...).

In reality, strength of schedule does mean something, no? Outside of the 3 pt shooting contest we had with Coe, we've really only played 2 shitty teams. We boat-raced Georgia State, who has wins over Alabama and Georgia. ETSU and Montana have nice squads and will make noise in their conferences, if not win them. Heck, Green Bay is decent and would have a winning record except their non-con included Oregon, Iowa, Michigan State, the mighty Creighton Bluejays and an Indiana State squad that came close to winning a tourney in Hawaii after beating Colorado and UNLV. So, while we have no wins over the esteemed AAAACCC, we do have a top 30 schedule.

Mostly, I think it's awesome that this gets your panties (and yes, I am betting on panties) in a wad.

Did you really just call a loss top a top 75 team a bad loss? And completely ignore Seton Hall's other tier 1 win at Maryland? What about that fact that they're 5-1 away from home so far including 4-0 on a neutral floor? Seton Hall also has a better resume at the moment than every team in your beloved AAC. Only Houston's is remotely competitive with SHU's and both of their tier 1 wins at the moment are hanging by a thread.

Why do we spend so much time comparing ourselves to the AAC which is a mid major? We do not compete with them at all. They are inferior in almost every way possible.
