Lay off Stever, he's having a rough day. He's a Georgetown fan, remember?

Making stuff up, projecting the worse-case scenario at all times for the Big East from November through March, twisting and manipulating data all to diminish the Big East - on a Big East board.... yet the conference proves you wrong time and time again.

Big East is a top 3 conference annually, gets 50-70% of the conference in the tournament, 2 out of the last 3 national champions, highest attended conference tournament championship in the country (and at MSG), a great TV contract with FOX that pays big money and nearly every game on national TV, and a group of like-minded basketball focused institutions.

Just stop with your doomsday, worst-case only scenarios for the Big East - because none of what you write here has proven to actually happen in reality over the last 5 years.

I'm sorry, but the OOC setup that has actually occurred is the worst case scenario. Having nearly everyone at 4+ losses OOC, with several of the ones with 3 or fewer not good OOC SOS...

The Big East WAS a top 3 in RPI. RPI is gone. The NET right now underrates the Big East by 5 spots vs RPI- and will be really interesting to see it end of season.... Ken Pom the Big East is 5th. That's reality.

Money. Big East paid out not even 3 million a year. Even if that gets to 5 million a year- possible- using 80/20 rule- that would be ok if P5 conferences got 25 million. But alas they aren't. P5 conferences are now making 35-50+ million.... That's reality.

I absolutely love how you want to throw out history. History isn't going to help teams make the tourney this year. Period the end.

an interesting post Jeff Goodman just had...
I’m not sure how we’re gonna fill 68 teams this year. I just hope the committee members reward these mid-majors.

I guess we’ll find out if he’s right on selection Sunday when we see how many bids the AAC gets.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

Yep. Insufferable and predictable nonsense. The guy has no desire for rational discussion. Sky is falling and there is nothing to stop it. The worst possible scenario with anything related to the BE will come to pass: poor media rights contracts, BET eventually losing MSG, loss of bids, recruiting drops, loss of coaches, etc, etc, etc. The thing is...it’s starting to just litter up a great board. Shame.

It's a tough life when you want to be a P6...and your conference is ranked 8th.

oh, and with the AAC having a .056 better winning percentage than the Pac 12, it's very possible if not likely when all is said and done, in the RPI, the AAC will finish 6th....

I think it's time for another ban hammer for the disingenuous mid-major troll boy. Same old, same old, nothing new ever from him. Sky is falling/glass half empty for the BE, always. While moving goalposts and defending every other conference no matter what. He has almost zero respect and absolutely no credibility left. Put him out of his misery already.

That hall maryland game is huge. If the Hall wins I think we have the potential to get as much as 6 teams in. Remember not everything is about the rpi or net.If Hall could go into conference play with wins over Kentucky Maryland Miami and Rutgers they would be in great shape. Marquette is a lock now. Creighton Butler St. Johns are a should be in. Nova is tarting to slide into bubble territory that Penn loss was devasting. Hall was on the outside looking in before the Kentucky win they should be trending up now. As for DePaul, Xavier and Georgetown they are done, they lost all their games against tournament teams and have cupcakes left. The only team that has a chance to move up is Providence, beat Texas and have a good big east and be tourney and they have a shot. Not all doom and gloom but certainly not at the level as last year. Just an average year overall, look at the PAC its a disaster we are in good shape.

The problem that the Big East has is the records. These next 2 weeks are gigantic with OOC games.
Seton Hall- Maryland
Creighton- Oklahoma
Providence- Texas
Villanova- UConn
Xavier- Missouri
Butler- Florida

If Nova and/or Xavier lose- they've got 5 losses OOC. The others would have 4 losses. And the problem is of those 6 games- only Nova is favored. The conference already has 5 more losses this year compared to last year. It's 4 away from having the most OOC losses it's ever had. You guys seem to think that Big East play is all that matters. Well it's not. OOC matters a ton. Until we start seeing the committee taking a lot of 14 and 15 loss teams- how can we take it seriouisly
