Stever Spin from a few days ago:

No Big East teams in the top 30 NET. No quad 1 home wins.

Today:
31. Nova
32. SJU
34. Marquette
42. Creighton
45. Butler
60. Georgetown
71. Providence
72. Xavier
85. DePaul
90. Seton Hall

So close! :)

As of today we have 5 Tournament teams (keeping this simple and looking at top 50). Pretty good for a down year!

Just realized the WCC is having a really impressive year.

They are 7th in conference RPI and have 3 teams in the top 50 NET (#2 Gonzaga, #27 San Fran, #50 Loyola Marymount). They also have a couple other teams in the 70s. Definitely looking like a multi bid year for them, maybe even 3.

Happy for our West Coast Catholic school counterparts. There are quite a few programs with several stretches of elite college basketball success. Unfortunately, and most likely due to the PAC schools, very few have been able to sustain it (other than Gonzaga).

Interesting that when the BE has a weekend where they’re favored norrowly in most games Stever shows up with multiple reminders that due to the close projected margin, a few of those games will wind up as losses, while finding it to be a very worthwhile exercise to extrapolate the damage done by losing every close game when we are modest underdogs on several the same day.

Last night, Stever was providing game updates of the Villanova/Temple game on the other board under the "Laughable Scores" thread. When Villanova won, dead silence... until he pivoted and started bashing St. John's fans saying that they're "********" because that "they think they should be ranked". Of course, "Temple played a great game" yet St. John's is terrible because "they only won by 14 against Mount St. Mary's. When asked if he criticizes any other fan bases on this or any other site, or even visits boards of other conferences, he simply responded with "That doesn't make St John's fans any less delusional".

When Big East teams win games they should, it is transferred to "well, you see the thing is that they only won by x points, or the team they were playing was actually bad, thus their resume gets negatively impacted." Naturally, when teams from other leagues get upset, or even win games by a small margin, it is "But, the thing is those teams were supposed to lose, or those losses are actually good for their resume, which will help prop up the ratings of conference teams."

I appreciate college basketball discussion. I can even tolerate the same logic and identical train of thought be incorrectly, and with a clear bias and intent, being applied separately to two teams, two leagues, etc. However, what I continue to get frustrated by is a poster on this board, going to other boards, and repeatedly talk **** and criticize posters and fans from this board.

I'm sorry, but St John's winning by only 14 at home vs Mount St Mary's is not as good as Temple losing by 10 on the road to Villanova. Mount St Mary's is one of the 10 worst teams in the country right now.

lets look at some ratings....
Ken Pom. SJ- going into last night 49 now 54. Temple going into last night 76 now 75
RPI. SJ- starting this week 15 now 51. Temple starting this week 60 now 62

I would post the NET, but that's not up yet.

Also maybe things would be better if I could actually I don't know be able to have conversations on this board without 3/4 of my posts being declined for no reason at all..... I reply to folks here all the time and 3/4 of the time the replies NEVER show up..... But of course that gets swept up under the rug...... I challenge admin to let me post here freely for 1 week and see what happens....

NET conference rankings are out on Warren Nolan. We are currently third behind the Big and the Big 12 and ahead of the ACC, SEC and PAC. Not bad so far for a down year.

Well he must be talking about me, since I believed as of last week we deserved to be ranked based on results and pre-season hype.

Wow, can't believe this guy was celebrating our poor performance last night (even though we won by 15). NONE of us St. John's fans were happy with our performance last night. Nobody was bragging about it. If anything, it was the opposite. Just look at Redmen. A lot of us expect to be exposed by Big East play.

Stever, this isn't the college football playoffs choosing the top 4 teams. Margins in close games don't matter to the AP. They don't even look outside the weekly top 25 games, you really think they'd look at margins vs random mid major teams? Only a handful of them like Jon Rothstein (who actually DOES have us ranked) look that closely.

Your personality on here is completely fake. You don't even have a team to call your own, all you do is troll. You've wasted years of your life arguing with a few dozen people on a message board, and reality keeps going against your own expectations.

I have no respect for you, because the only reason you aren't a complete ***hole on here is because the mods would ban you.

Looks like my theory of eating up cupcakes is correct.

SJU actually moved UP after yesterday's win. We are now Quad 1 (#29)!

Nova moved up as well, now #23.

The reason SJU moved up had nothing to do with the game. But instead, VCU beating Texas.... opponent games mean a ton in this system.... I mean Clemson dropped 22 spots last night. Utah moved up 21 spots. Neither one played.
