I think Gonzaga will want to see how this all plays out first. If they join, I doubt it would be right away. Maybe sometime down the line.

Gonzaga is the one who came out and publicly said "invite us!!!". If we want them we can have them.

I read that "sources" claimed that Gonzaga would love to be part of national branded conference, but I've never seen anything where Gonzaga has came out publicly to express such an opinion. IMO, a national branded conference would include multiple teams out west. Not sure they would want to come by themselves. It kind of reminds of the Creighton/A10 type situation last spring.

No, the WCC would not allow only non BB sports. Best bet might be an east/west national conference though.

I don't see any way that Gonzaga or, St. Mary's, is involved in the league from the get go.

Gonzaga is a reach because of location, St. Mary's is even a greater reach IMO. They've had some recent success but they play in a high school gym (that's putting it nicely). If they upgrade facilities, get more fan support and continue to have success, then maybe in a few years they get an invite.

They do want it. Will we have them? I bet at the outset the answer is no, but someday maybe.

Tell Gonzaga they have to figure the details to make it work. Maybe they would accept less of the media money to offset the costs for the other schools traveling there?
