Of course Big East "superfan" stever comes sniffing around after last night's losses out of concern for the league's reputation. I think it'll be a down year for the league anyways, but next year really could really be special. Lots of juniors on the preseason 1st and 2nd teams this year.

Big East "superfan" is back on the other board talking about "folks" (his favorite term...maybe stever is a Trumper?) on this board who deny the possibility that the league might have a down year this season. Like Trump, no specifics...something not surprising given the fact that no one on this board fits stever's category of "folks" in this case.

I was away on a work trip for a couple of days... what did I miss?

Last night was ugly, no way around it. Does it mean that the entire league will definitively be down this year? Not necessarily. These things happen. Let's wait a few more games. Tip your cap to UM, IU and Nebraska and move on. I would imagine that last night's result got the Nova players' attention (much like that OU game in Pearl Harbor a couple years back), and that's a good thing. Now, I'm not going to predict that Nova is going to pay these guys back in the F4 but it's a long season and teams can rebound and adjust.

We've played 3 Top 25 / tourney teams--2 closed door scrimmages with UVA and UNC and UM last night. Rumor is we beat UNC by 10, lost at UVA by 3-5 and then last night happened. Not the result you want but this is a much better team than what we saw last night. We're not winning 30 games this year like the last 4 years, but we'll be much better than a 25+ pt loss to Michigan. As my man ARog likes to say: R-E-L-A-X people.
