There is no argument. Please stop concern trolling on our behalf. He currently has a top ten class that will likely end up in the top 15 or twenty. He’s brought in 4 4 stars and hasn’t coached a single game yet. We are happy at Xavier. He was one of the best recruiters in the country as an assistant. He has a future top 50 kid signed in 2020 as I’ve already said multiple times so your whole fake argument is stupid and already proven wrong anyways. For the love of god stop posting

...I literally wrote this in my prior two posts, which you responded to:

insane recruiting start with a top 10 class nationally (currently).
(excellent recruiting too, btw- currently top 10 nationally)

The only reason I included "currently" in there (super obvious, I shouldn't need to state it), is because I knew you'd reply with something stupid if I didn't.

I don't even want to respond to the rest, because it's tiring and you're wrong. I'll repeat myself one final time: you can't compare 6 years of recruiting to 6 months. Mack had an awful 2018 final class. Steele's first is fantastic.

Mack had a couple great classes, a couple below average ones and others somewhere in between. Travis was his best recruiter who brought in Mack’s two highest rated players, Blueitt and Scruggs. There aren’t any Xavier fans worried about recruiting under Steele.

stever's latest from the other board: "I love folks who quote Xaviers class as being top 10, like it's a done deal. The problem is that unless Xavier picks up another guy or 2, they aren't finishing top 10...... Oops."

This is how we need to post for things not to get derailed:

Wow!* Xavier is off to an excellent* start*, currently* top 10* in the country!

But, the thing is:
*Mack at Louisville is now recruiting players ranked 44-60.
*Mack got several players ranked top 50 while at Xavier.
*Mack's recruiting in 2018 is irrelevant.
*Steele has not yet gotten any top 50 players.
*No, that 2020 player who is on multiple top 50 lists isn't relevant. No chance at breaking into the 247 Composite top 50 once more lists are out or the years progress.
*Xavier has no chance at remaining top 10 later in the season, so actually the initial statement is false and should be deleted. (Breaking character here, but contrary to the BS Stever posted I've always agreed they most likely won't stay top 10. As usual he's completely missing the point. Even if they finish top 25 that's still excellent.)
*Actually, the initial statement was wrong. I don't think Xavier's recruiting is very good at all. Mack was a huge loss.

Absolutely none of this is an exaggeration. I wish some of Stever's posts could just not be posted, since the mods look at them prior to them going live. I understand that's a monumental task for the mods given how many essays he writes on here, but far too many are absolute nonsense and hurt discussion. Imagine how the guests feel reading this BS? No other message boards I post on are like this.

Just my $0.02 regarding Stever and possible censoring. Not sure if it was my Father or Grandfather who told me this once: "let a fool speak his mind for all to hear," as opposed to stopping him from being heard. Great advice in this age of blogs, tweets and posts.

He does get frustrating... and his points are often ridiculous with no basis in fact or actual data...and don't get me started on how he moves the goalposts in just about every debate...and why he loves the AAC is beyond me--I mean most fans of those schools don't even believe in the AAC...and who cares what he says on some other sad site in which he just talks to himself.

But I am against summarily stunting a free exchange of ideas. So BJack, Jet and Hoya, I appreciate the job you guys do for making this a great site. Do what you must but I wouldn't ban the guy unless/until his trolling goes way over the line. The way I see it, the guy is consistently proven wrong at every turn, and we point that out, but he still keeps coming back for more. That should stand for something...

I can't speak for anyone else, but my position is that off season discussion threads are given a little more latitude. With the regular season upon us, I intend to restrict some of the trolling and off topic posts that detract from the discussion of Big East hoops.
