Maybe, as they accumulate more and more properties they will eventually try it down the line, but I think it's something they need to do if they seriously want to make a run at ESPN, as well as accumulating more properties.

You know they had one right?

The problem is the guys they had doing it acted like absolute buffoons the first night (remember one of them literally screaming Saints/Colts/Fox/Sunday?) And it turned folks off immediately. (also will say ESPN was brilliant in starting that Olbermann show the next week at 11pm and that cut into their ratings quite a bit).

Whether it's about Creighton or the conference, I love your relentless optimism! There will be challenges, as always, but we're set up pretty nicely going forward.

There's going to be some salty folks when Fox gives the Big East schools an even better contract for the next ten years. I don't know why this is hard to understand, they are systematically building content partners to build a overarching brand. Big East (and Big Ten) basketball are cornerstones of the Fox Sports brand and will continue to be so.

In many ways, the content partners they are adding today is a reflection of the success Big East basketball has had during the first half of this contract's partnership.

I would be shock if CBS doesn't renew the deal with FOX/FS1 for Big East rights to 20+ games per year. Those are big games having the Big East on CBSSN.

Would CBS have the option, or would it be up to Fox?

That wasn't a daily show and it was really more of a comedy sketch than a highlights show. I'm not counting it.

You must not of watched the first 2 years of FS1. They had a show just like SportsCenter and eventually ditched it in favor of just Jay and Dan.

Does the quality of a product in a commercial during a show on a particular TV station have anything to do with the strength of that show?

I ask this because FS1 Big East hoops has high-end or stable products like Range Rover, Lincoln, wristwatches, etc, while ESPN-U and ESPN-2 show Ronco-type Ginsu-knife-type commercials like the guy in the boat with the waterproofing spray, and lint brush level products.

Interesting. I will have to look into that and whether it is available in up here and I might finally have an option for FS1. Even then, it might be different among countries. I still have a dish subscription, but have slowly been accessing more streaming services. I picked up DAZN for the NFL last year and recently got netflix. The thing I'm finding about streaming though is that you need more than one service to get everything you want (sports, movies, live TV...) and no one service provides everything at this point. And then you get into even more specific things (say if you particularly like a certain movie genre for example) then you are adding even more services. I can see this getting expensive too, maybe not to cable levels, but still. I was unaware that initially most BE games were aired mostly on FS1, but I'm personally glad there is more on Fox now as thats where I have been watching on the weekends.

Anyways, congrats to the BE fans on what has been a successful 5 years and here is hoping for many more. Yeah, there remain challenges, but I don't see how these past 5 years could not be considered a success. Also glad to see BE guys doing well in the summer league!
