Markus Howard will be player of the year, but Marquette finishes 8th??? That makes little sense. Howard winning player of the year seems much more likely that MU finishing that low.

Is the writer a closet Bluejay fan? Not sure too many folks (other than gtmo) have the Jays finishing that high.

The writer must be a closet Nova/Xavier diehard. Both are losing 4 or more significant players and he is harping on culture winning the BE. Both will take significant steps back. Prov, Marq, Crei, & Gtwn will probably be in the mix for contention, with Prov likely the front runner.

I look for Nova & X in the 2nd tier (4-6 place).

I didn't have a ton of problems with the picks, but thought Seton Hall and Creighton are probably too high, and Marquette is probably too low based on who they have coming back and coming in.

Also didn't understand the "Who's Gone" section. Was this supposed to just be underclassmen leaving? Seniors? Seemed to changed his mind on each team.

GTMO, my man... When will you learn young man? DO NOT DOUBT JAY!!!!!! Yes, losing up to 4 of the 6 key players is big for Nova. However, virtually every year since re-org we have lost significant contributors. Somehow, someway, someone steps up---almost like he knows what he is doing.

The new class coming in will be exceptional. Cremo will be a nice piece. I also believe Jermaine Samuels will take a huge step forward and show why everyone was so high on him for last year. Phil Booth will be back for his 20th year of eligibility and be a steadying force on offense and more importantly, defense. Finally, your favorite player, Paschal will be a MONSTER next year. If Donte and Omari leave he will be the first option and he will present significant challenges for any defense. I think he gets drafted very high next year.

All that said, will they take a step back losing up to 4 first round draft picks? Of course. I think they will stumble early on---particularly out of conference. But, when the defense finally clicks (and it will), Nova will be in the mix.

reading the piece, the guy is saying that Donte is nearly a lock to be leaving while Omari is much more of a ? Is that how Nova fans are reading the situation right now?

What's going to be really funny is if Donte gets taken prior to Grayson Allen. Kind of a similar situation- bombing out in the title game unexpectedly.

'Chap, I'm nothing if not consistent. Sustained consistency is key for reliability and accountability. Wouldn't be me without it. ;)
...and yes, ol' Jay has been pretty consistent as well. He's got his work cut out for him this season.

All the best to ya and my 'Nova brethren. :)
