The Saturday tilt between X and Nova is set to be a special game.

Nova will be hungry for sure, but Nova has 3 big problems facing it:

1. The Cintas Center environment.

2. Xavier wanting revenge for the earlier game in Philly.

3. X can smell the regular season champion finish line.

It's going to be fun!

Xavier D is exactly what this team needs to get out of this shooting funk

Well I wouldn't go that far, but we do seem to shoot pretty well against X typically. ;)

Great win by the Johnnies...4 in a row! 14-13 now above .500. Hoping we can finish at least 2-2 in the regular season to put us at 16-15 which is a lock for the NIT I'd think. Despite the awful conference record from earlier in the season, I think the Nova and Duke wins balance it out. If we can go 4-0 somehow to close out the season we are incredibly 18-13 going into the BET and you'd have to think that 1 or 2 more wins gets us a bid.

Things are finally turning around...must keep momentum and take one game at a time. The team is learning how to win tight games now and making the NIT at a minimum would turn this from a lost season to an ok one giving the circumstances. Next season will show us if Mullin can take us from decent to very good. Time will tell, but we are no longer an embarrassment and we are the surprise team in the nation given how we started.

To the NCAA you are 13-13. If you go 2-2 you are 15-15 with a RPI of 67.7. You would need bare minimum to win a game in the BET there I think- I don't think you get in with a losing overall record....

For the NCAA you go 4-0 and you are 17-13 with a RPI of 47.1. You would just need 1 BET win I think to clinch things. That could depending on Seton Hall be though in the 6/3 game.

Question of the day: In NCAA history, how many teams have scored 65 points in a half and lost by double digits? It can't be many...

Stever, if we go 15-15 we make the NIT I would think. Two top 4 wins is a big deal and you aren't factoring that at all.

That didn't even happen during 1990 Loyola Marymount's 4 game NCAA run (Michigan scored like 54 and 57 and lost by 30). Maybe regular season for LMU that year, but i can't find the boxscores.

The DePaul vs St John's game was really good. A ton of lead changes all night. Ok, Marin Maric is my least favorite Blue Demon. He throws a lot of "inadvertent" elbows with flailing arms and Bill Laimbeer type sneaky antics. Tried to trip a guy going baseline, got whistled but could've been a flagrant. Early season i remember late in their game at Xavier, Tyrique Jones knocked him into the front row past the cheerleaders... Maric had probably earlier been pulling his bulls--t with Tyrique.

Also, a general comment... i really dislike the recent fake head-bobbing that's becoming common to try to draw fake fouls. I'm not going to name names, but two guys are on notice. I mean c'mon, that's ACC stuff.

Now get off my lawn.
