Here's a giant list of the probable 2023 coaches in the Big East, B12, B1G, PAC-12, ACC and SEC.
.
I'm totally biased, but our 11 coaches as a whole are pretty cool, top conference for coolness. i think the Big-12 comes in a distant second.
I don't mean to slight the AAC, WCC, A-10, MWC, etc.
Also uppercase schools are new hires for 2023. Lowercase schools mean i had no idea they were the coach.

Man thinking Big 12, when they expand they lose Moser and Beard but add Sampson, Pope, Dawkins, and whoever from Cincy. That's probably #1 but Big East is really close.
(one thing for your list is Weber is gone and asst from Baylor taking over).

ok thanks stever, i corrected it.
Just thinking, a lot of the fun of watching college hoops is watching the coaches and their personalities... Big East is great on that front.

the thing for the Big East to me is the depth. go look at the median coach in each league...
Big East lets say Shaka
Big 12 lets say Dixon
Big Ten lets say Underwood
Pac 12 lets say Hopkins
ACC lets say Forbes
SEC lets say Davis
I'd take Shaka over any of those guys except for maybe Dixon.

Yes good point. To me, in terms of coaching i'd go Shaka... in terms of sideline behavior, also Shaka. I hadn't seen Dixon in years til that Seton Hall win, so i forgot what a clown he is.
At least when say Dan Hurley stomps around, it's entertaining and usually justified, like waiting for McEnroe to snap... Dixon is just a boring dude that whines, like screaming at the refs while up 30... again, this is just my biased opinion.

Also, the SEC just filled in a slew of coaching vacancies and essentially hired from the mid-major ranks. The last few Big East vacancies were filled by high major coaches (Shaka, Miller, Anderson) which is a good sign that we can attract coaches from high level programs. I like our line up.

Great point Redmen

Hmmm. Is no other top 6 league hiring minority/black coaches....other than the Big East?? (Updated 24Mar22)'
Holloway is an excellent coach and a SH Alum to boot. Congrats if he is actually the hiree to replace Willard.
However, If hired Holloway becomes the 7th black coach in the league, out of 11 universities.
Is the BE just that good of a judge of coaching talent? Is it just luck, synchronicity, an anomaly?
Could this also be one of the reasons for the obvious lack of respect the league gains/gets/garners nationally?
Hmmm.
Just sayin'?
("Here comes that rainy day/HBCU feelin' again.")
PAC 12 - 0
B1G - 1 J Howard UMich
Big 12 - 2 M Boynton Ok St, J Tang-K St
SEC - 3 J Stackhouse Vandy, D Gates-Missouri, L Paris-So Carolina (+1)
ACC - 6 L Hamilton-FSU, H Davis-UNCheat, K Keatts-NC St, J Capel-Pitt, E Grant-BC, K Payne-Louisville (+2)
BEast - 7 Smart-Marq, Stubblefield-DePaul, Holloway-Seton Hall (+2)

Dennis Gates is black. I think John Thompson has had a huge influence on this conference.

Wow, that's unbelievable. Including Gates at Mizzou, that's 4 black coaches combined in Pac-12, B1G, Big-12, and SEC... so 50 teams, 4 black coaches. Only 8%.
The ACC is 6 of 15 (including Earl Grant at BC, and Kenny Payne at Louisville), so 40%.
The Big East is 7 of 11, or 64%.
