Big East Standings Prediction thread

We've seen enough OOC play to have an idea of what everyone can do, so how do you guys think the final standings will look?

I'm still working through mine so I'm not starting us off, but still wanted to get a thread up. It's gonna be with your year, with Nova looking a bit vulnerable early on, I could see 1-8 separated by only a game or 2.

Alright, I think I'm ready. At the moment, I have three tiers. I'm lesss confident in the orders inside of those tiers, but here it goes:

1. Villanova (Not as obvious as we thought pre-season, but I think they find a way to get it done)
2. Seton Hall
3. Xavier
4. Providence
5. UConn (Injuries can happen to anyone, but UConn already has a couple key ones and with the top half of the league or more being potentially separated by tiebreakers or a single game, I think it knocks them down a line or 2)

6. Depaul
7. Creighton
8. St. John's
9. Marquette
10. Butler

11. Georgetown

Josh Hart ain't walking through that door. I have no doubt Nova will still be good and a lock for the tourney, but they have had 3 chances to prove they are elite and failed all three so far. Seton Hall on the other hand...

1. Seton Hall
2. Xavier
3. UConn
4. Villanova
5. Providence
6. St. John's
7. Creighton
8. Marquette
9. DePaul
10. Butler
11. Georgetown
Xavier

Villanova's record isn't the prettiest right now, but I'm not sure SHU or anyone else would have done any better against their schedule. The iffy loss to me is Purdue, considering they've since lost to Rutgers and went to OT with NC State. As for SHU's big wins...well Michigan looks more mediocre by the day and Texas doesn't have any great wins on its resume either, so as much as I want to be excited I'm still holding back.

4 BEASTS in the current top 25, as per AP poll, Coach's poll, Sagarins, and Ken Poms (Villanova, UConn, Seton Hall, and Xavier, and mostly in that order.) Plus, I think Providence really should be there too, with 3 wins and no losses to the top 50 teams in the Sagarins. I see all 5 of these as solid NCAA tourney entrants, plus maybe 1 more from 2nd tier teams. IMHO, picking the order of finish in league play among the top 5 is just a guess, with nobody REALLY standing out in this crowd. So, I'll just go with reverse alphabetical order, although I really would pick X over Nova at this point, and I really would put the Friars at #5, just based on my perception of overall talent levels.

1. Xavier (only loss so far has been to current #10 Iowa State, and that with 4 players either missing altogether (Freemantle, Kunkel) or playing sick with flu (Scruggs, Johnson.) A legitimate 9 or 10 deep - deepest team in XU history?
2. UConn
3. Villanova (scored under 40 points vs. Baylor??)
4. Seton Hall
5. Providence.

Then 3 relatively inexperienced teams who seem to be improving pretty rapidly under very good coaches, no clear order in my mind, so again I'll just go reverse alphabetical
6. St. John's (why not, good OOC results overall)
7. Marquette (new coach, new players, but Shaka has them on track)
8. Creighton (has a nice top 25 win recently, and the best KenPom rank of these 3, but IMHO too many Freshmen to really contend),

9. DePaul (out of the cellar at last, or playing a cupcake OOC schedule AGAIN because they know they're not up to league standards AGAIN? OK, I'm a sucker, and I'll be an optimist here.)
10. Butler (rebuilding, not a lot of upside potential this season)
11. Georgetown (WTF is wrong with these guys? Clearly not playing up to their talent level to date.)
