https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/article/2020-12-29/top-10-mens-college-basketball-conferences-right-nowYikes our boys in the AAAAACCCC can't crack AK's Top 10... But I was assured that once all that "Power 6" cash started pouring in, our fledgling hoops only conference would become irrelevant.
Where's our boy Stever been?

Ouch. Shockers must be regretting that downgrade from the MVC.

Apparently Katz admitted that he forgot to put them in the top 10 which is probably more embarrassing, AAC is an afterthought.

That's pretty shocking. Who has Drake beaten?
I think B12 > B1G

Wow that is quite a telling oversight.

Honest question.... does Stever still come around this board? I haven't seen him much

It's right on par with ESPN's references to the Big East. They keep trying to push a basketball P5, which is more embarrassing.

The Big East/AAC debate is officially over, and Stever's dynamic and argumentative pursuits towards this topic have essentially vanished (more due to him continuing to be on moderator approval more than anything). Personally, I don't think he needs moderator approval anymore, but that is not my place to say (I am not a moderator). Stever is always one to engage in debate, and HLOH is wonderful home for BE Hoops Talk for all.
Side note: yes, the AAC (for Basketball) is in - long-term - deep trouble. As stated repeatedly before, as the AAC is currently constructed, the league is, at-best, a maximum three-bid league. This is based on historical performance and current collection of programs. The "potential" of all of these programs each having strong OOC seasons and the top taking care of the middle and the bottom, with the middle convincingly owning the bottom, the league can then be a four-or-five-bid league. However, history has shown that all those forces occurring together rarely happen in the same year. Cincinnati and Memphis should be top-25 programs annually. Take this year, for example: this is the first year that the collection of UCF/USF/ECU/Tulane have not individually torpedoed the OOC SOS W/L; however, this is the first time that Cincinnati (one of the historical top programs) is in last place in the AAC as well. Much like the locations of the AAC, the basketball pieces just never seem to fit together (even without UConn).

I think he made a few posts when Greg Marshall story broke. Haven't seen his posts since.

Many of us said that adding Wichita was only sensible for AAC if Marshall was going to stay for a while. Well, he's gone. Now they're back to being irrelevant. So now they're just one more nothing team in a bad conference. Cincy stinks since Cronin left. All they have left is really Memphis (and that's because they have to buy 4-5* kids). And you think they aren't dying to get out?
