This is a very uncomfortable read.....lots to take in here.

Kevin Willard is quite the wordsmith! And unfortunately he seems very logical in predicting a near impossible complete season. I mean, 1 positive test and the entire team is quarantined for 14 days? That seems to be an awful hard obstacle to over come...let alone if it happens twice!

Yeah, i think that needs to change in order for season to be completed. That policy is stricter than hospitals. If u are positive, you can come back in 10 days as long as you have no symptoms. If a player tests positive, they sit out and you test the rest of the team and if they are negative keep going forward..

It’ll be great if you are in the ACC SEC AaCK and B12. We’re going to be sitting home watching those leagues in March. I thought Val would see the idiocy of the B1G and PAC and let the schools have more power

“We had our MTE [Multi-team event] canceled the other day and I came to practice and 12 of my kids were like, ‘Why are we practicing? The same thing is going to happen, the season is going to be canceled,’” Willard relayed Wednesday during Big East Media Day, which was held virtually.

Debbie Downer.

Yeah thankfully no games have had to be canceled at all and no athlete has died from this so we shouldn't be cautious at all. I'm sorry but they're student athletes, there's no reason to be put in extra danger during a pandemic just for our entertainment. If it's safe more power to them but there was valid reasons to do what the B1G and PAC did.

Django/anyone that can answer, why will these conferences possess an advantage over the Big East? Forgive my confusion, I was under the impression that the NCAA's COVID policy(Tier 1 personnel test positive/14 day quarantine) was a mandate versus a recommendation. In that article, I did see where it stated that it was an NCAA recommendation.

So, are those conferences not adhering to the NCAA recommendation, but their own protocols? Thanks.

I didn’t know that it’s an NCAA regulation, thanks for pointing that out. I thought it was like football where conferences have completely different standards.

I feel like there was a thread once about ESPN cutting jobs but I couldn’t find it. Since it’s Covid related, might as well mention here that the 4 letter network just cut a ton of jobs and on air talent due to reduced revenue from sporting events. Have to wonder how this will impact TV contracts going forward.
