COVID-19 impact on professional sports discussion

Postby ArmyVet » Mon Jul 27, 2020 10:07 am

I wondered if we might be allowed to have a separate discussion regarding the impact of COVID on pro sports? Many of us are fans of NBA, NFL, MLB and more in the same cities as Big East programs.

Miami Marlins had multiple positive tests. They were playing at the Phillies yesterday so now both teams' games have been canceled for today. This could be a disaster. If this is happening in MLB which is relatively contact free, how in earth will NFL be allowed to play?

Any idea how the league handled refunding of tickets sold?

Yes. I got a full refund for my BET tickets which was surprising since there were games on opening night. (I bought the full tournament package). Even more shocking was the fact that I was fully reimbursed for the insane Ticketmaster fees as well.

My sister bought tickets for the Wednesday opening night to take my nephew but ending up skipping it due to Covid concerns. She also was fully refunded even though games were played.

Really impressed with how MSG, Ticketmaster and the Big East handled the whole situation.
