Pre Season ALL BIG EAST

1st team Howard and Powell are a given but after that it looks like Diallo, Marshall, Baldwin.

2nd team- Alexander, Heron, Scruggs, Reed, Watson.

In the mix- The G-Town 4, LJ, Ballock, Jones, Gillespie and the obvious blue chip freshman
Wisdom is what you get 5 seconds after you needed it.

Don't forget, Big East actually names six "first teamers". The POY and then 5 on the first-team.

It will be interesting to see how the Howard-Powell voting shakes out.

How will it be interesting? Howard's the reigning BE POY, a returning first team AA, A preseason POY candidate, and has been on All big east teams his whole career. Powell had a sudden run to First team last year.

Any coach that votes Powell over Howard at this point is a lunatic

Can’t tell if you’re serious or not but it’s a moot point either way cause Naji’s gonna be poy

There are two elite favorites and than everyone else who are pretty interchangeable and will likely depend on team results. Anyone with a brain knows guys like Marshall and Scruggs were on a bad team last year and therefore had better stats versus guys like samuels and Gillespie that deferred to top tier guys leading to another conference championship. Next man up factor on the historically strong programs makes this less clear cut after the to two.

I guess I am a lunatic because I'd take Powell over Howard. Powell is the best player in the league IMHO.

I think a lot of people would agree.

since the name of the thread is Pre Season All Big East, I don't know how it changes from the reigning BE POY to someone else there. Perhaps over the course of the season someone beats him out, but that wouldn't be Pre Season. I wouldn't be surprised to see Alexander on some sheets, but not surprised to seen him on 2nd also. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Zegarowski on some sheets for 2nd or at least 3rd team if they go to three teams on Pre Season lists. Hopefully, by end of the year we will have had a couple of guys with good enough seasons to garner 1st or 2nd team status.

Agreed, though I'm obviously a bit biased here.

Howard may be a little more of a stat-stuffer, but Powell's the one I'd rather have on my team.

Well, I thought it should’ve been powell last year so it’s consistent for me
