Reputable Boneyard Posters: UConn To Big East For 2021...

This deserves its own thread:

Scosox mentioned this in the UConn Smoke thread (page 28)... the Boneyard site has a thread that began at 11pm tonight, claiming UConn will join the Big East for the 2021 season. Where UConn football will go hasn't been answered on that thread yet. A poster there named Chief is pretty reputable.

If UConn goes indy in football i think that would be great for them. In my opinion, they should definitely be pro-active instead of sitting and waiting like they've been doing.

Fantastic news for the Big East if this is true.

Guessing you mean the 2021-22 season, as they must give 20 something months notice to their current conference.
Standing by for the official notification.

Question: What sort of voting mechanism would be in play by the Prez's? Special session or a a normal Prez's meeting? Simple majority vs super majority vote? Other?

Then work out the contract negotiations/terms.

I read for the 2021 season. So 2020 would be last in the American. Probably all parties want to move on, especially cuz football struggled.

I'm actually really happy that UConn will rejoin the conference. I think it's honestly a great move for UConn too:

- go indy, go 500, make a bowl.
- UConn fans will love returning to MSG.
- the ACC (Atlantic Coast Conf) will be so freakin pissed, which would actually put UConn in a better position of someday getting an ACC invitation (unlikely invitation, but better positioning in my opinion).

I didn't really believe it since I've never heard of sportsdesk, but that sounds like a near confirmation. Just want to say.....

If we're going 11 teams, stay with 18 game schedule.

Also, funny timing, but the Syracuse-Pitt defections happened late on a Friday night

Unnecessary though to stay at 18... double round robin gets us to 20 easily.
