Returning Talent

Man, the one thing that hit me, after watching 4 straight days of BE BB, is the amount of talent this conference has coming back. I mean just about every team has a ton of exceptional young talent ready to take that next step up. We thought this year was a quagmire, next year might be worse.

We lose guys like Booth, Govan, Paschall, Clark, Strus, but there are going to be some young and loaded teams next year (esp if Powell and MH return).

1. Nova - Bey, Samuels and Gillespie will take the leadership reigns; add to them (3) 5 star players and a slew of 4 star players that you know will work their way through the Nova development machine, and we’ll be a problem again next year IMO
2 Hauser brothers and Theo make for the best frontcourt in the league
3. Really like that kid Nelson and Rhodes. Expect both to command a lot of minutes next year. Mama will get batter. Tough nucleus.
4. X - The two stud Sophs will both become 1st/2nd all league. Tremendous core duo.
5. G’town. If the 3 Frosh make a Soph leap...damn! They’re going to be a pain in the ass for a while.
6. Creighton - Teally nice young core. TSA is a star and Z is a great PG already. Add Mitch and that’s a damn good backcourt.
7. SJU - you gotta hope Ponds stays. They may really struggle if he doesn’t.
8. PC - Duke and Reaves and Watson. Damn! (Making my stank face as I say “damn”). :D
9. Butler - not a great year but everyone coming back basically and they are a bounce or two from tied for 3rd this year. They’ll be Butler...just consistent tough out every time they take the floor. Tucker and Baldwin are all league players.
10. Libe that kis Paul R.; took their recruiting up a notch; clearly will not be the same old DePaul for much longer.

This conference is stacked!!!

Now let’s go make some noise (tourney and NIT) THIS year. Good luck all.

Agreed. And next season may well play out like this one...a couple at the top and the quagmire in the middle. Could add up to another low bid year as well.
We need to add a couple teams to the bottom to boost the middle to 6-7 bids. Just sayin'.

Heron, Figeroa and Simon all back as well for the Johnnies. We just need a reliable big man to rebound.

Creighton returns all of the starters plus other players that accounted for 92% of the scoring. We also return Jacob Epperson from injury and add redshirt transfer Denzel Mahoney. We should be better next year, but so should almost every team in the league with the possible exception of DePaul (depending on how the new players jell). Should be nasty next year!

We return scruggs, goodin, jones, marshall, harden, and james (assuming everyone stays) harden and james may be transfer candidates, assuming james is the most likely. naji and scruggs are both older, so they might be threats to try and leave early but I doubt it. both should be all-big east candidates pre-season. i could see tyrique getting a little preseason recognition as well.

Gtown also gets Yurtseven I believe? NC state transfer. A skilled 7 footer who many believe is a pro prospect.
