G’town @ V’Nova (-11)
12:00 PM
FS1

Xavier @ Creighton (-6.5)
1:00 PM

Old school BE royalty in game 1; new school BE in game 2.

Hated Patrick as a player but really like what he is doing with the Hoya program. Seems to have his team’s full attention and I like his sideline demeanor. He’s got arguably the best young talent in the league, who are collectively starting to figure things out.

Re: the game today... Govan’s gonna get his I’m afraid. Not sure we can handle him inside. But I do think it’s a tough ask for the young Hoya backcourt to stick to a disciplined game plan for a full 40 minutes. That’s what I think they’ll need to win. I think if Mac and Akinjo try to do too much Nova will have their way with the young bucks. Hoping this is the start of an old rivalry, renewed.

Game 2. I think 3>2 and CU will hit more 3’s and overcome X’s bullying inside.

Im extremely excited about this game...I remember when we used to have Jay Wrights number and we took like 9 of 10 against you guys. That seems like a lifetime ago. The Big East runs through Villanova and i love Jay Wright and i have always rooted for you guys in the tourney. I could give less of a crap about the super bowl all i want is a HOYA upset

Hoyas kind of choked here down the stretch. Just stopped hitting shots. Even bricked some free throws. Govan came back in and proceeded to miss like 4 shots in a 30 second span. Next thing you know a couple Booth 3s and they are down double digits

Curious what X fans think of coach. His defensive game plan allowing Hankins to switch off of Martin/ Frohling/Bishop on all screens and not even try to switch back is baffling. The mismatches it leaves down low and on the perimeter is the difference in the game, IMO.

Much needed win for Creighton after a horrendous showing on Wednesday. Xavier looks to be in rebuild mode the way we were after Doug and Wragge graduated.

Overall, most Xavier fans may be in a state of shock, as we're certainly not used to years like this.

I still believe in Steele. I"m chalking up some of his coaching "decisions", such as the one you pointed out to first year, teeth-cutting stuff, though what you pointed out is very obvious - you guys had a field day at the rim - and he should be making better adjustments by now.

Beyond that, this roster and this team are problematic. He was dealt a tough hand coming in, and though he was initially praised for filling gaps with the three grad transfers, they've proven to be less than BE-ready, to be polite.

We know he can recruit.

We'll see if he can become a solid in-game coach. And he won't have much time to prove that after this season.

Well this sure sucks.

Postgame x-rays have confirmed that in today’s victory over Xavier, freshman guard Marcus Zegarowski (10.9 ppg.) suffered a fifth metacarpal fracture in his right hand.

He will be re-evaluated next week.

Creighton seems to be snake bit when it comes to injuries.
