I just want to take a moment and apologize for my debbie downer attitude. Admittedly, I sound like a total troll. I don't mean to troll though I just call it like I see it and not how I want to see it.
Allow me to explain how I got to this.
Believe it or not, I used to be incredibly optimistic about this program. Before last year, I always felt optimistic for the future and one day, we'll finally get over the hump and get to that Sweet 16 and maybe even win a Big East title along the way (regular season or tourney).
Then the KState game came. And it went. That was the night that broke me. It completely changed the way I view the program and Mac. After that game and how horrendous we looked, I couldn't help but think back to RI 2017 or Baylor 2014 or Duke 2013. Good freaking lord we just always save the worst games of the season for the worst possible times. Last night reminded me why I changed my views from optimistic to pessimistic. Even throughout the regular seasons for the past 5.5 years in this league, we've taken gut punch after gut punch after gut punch over and over again. Last night was the biggest one of them all. It takes a toll on you, doesn't it? It makes you question, has this program hit its ceiling? Are we even capable of greater success? Or is it just gonna be the same old, same old over and over again?
I decided that similar to Jet, I will no longer watch or attend anymore games this season and I'm just going to check box scores. I will continue to watch other Big East games though and you know I'll be rooting hard for our conference to succeed in March.
Don't expect me to post here for awhile. Though I'll be back in March to do my annual season review for every team when their season ends.
I wish the Jays and the rest of the conference nothing but the best the rest of the year. Again, I apologize for my behavior. I promise to do better in the future. See you guys in March.

Boston sports, like SJUBBALL mentioned, have had a ridiculously embarrassingly insane amount of success in the 2000's. But prior to that, basically my entire childhood and into my 30's, it was the exact reverse. Like complete soul crushing losses affecting several generations of fans (i'm think of the Red Sox here). The Patriots were a basket case of nuttiness. If i get time i'll give a rundown of those seasons and events.
Point being is that no matter how devastated a fanbase might be about a single play, or game, or series, or season, or decade, or generation, or lifetime, or history, there is ALWAYS a chance that things can change for the better, and to an extremely successful degree, and quickly.
Anyway, i really find this topic interesting and hope i get a chance to write something in more detail at some point.

Amen to what you're saying. From DC so until last years Caps Stanley Cup run- it was a pretty bad run of futility. 20 years of not winning the semifinals of any league. With a LOT of REALLY good teams. You always think I'm not going to get emotionally involved as much, and then something happens, and you're right back emotionally attached. Maybe moreso than before. But speaking as a Caps fan, when you finally DO win, nothing tops it.
