Ah, poor wittle UD fan.

You shouldn't confuse getting rid of old relics with needing help. Big mistake on your part. Xavier's capital campaign is moving along towards a successful close and its campus continues to expand in striking fashion with the $54 million, 150,000 sq. ft. HUB going up, among other smaller projects:

You should be more concerned about VD's chances in the 13th ranked A10 this year. A basketball program that has accomplished so little since joining that conference should be worried about where it's headed moving forward, especially at a time when scheduling will become so much more difficult for mid-majors like UD.

I get a chuckle out of this attempt at a narrative by you guys. It's like you have zero idea of how things are developing as time moves on. And it's just not Xavier. Most, if not all Big East members have interesting capital projects going on. Membership in the Big East has generated striking positive results for its members and it will continue to do so.

The HUB is coming along well.

Why are there so many dayton fans on this board?

Kind of hilarious that we're selling the blackburn/mccafferty trophy

It gets better: with all due respect to our non-Jesuit members, perhaps the Jesuit connections do play a role:

https://goxavier.com/news/2018/8/19/all-for-one-fund-xavier-announces-plans-for-the-heidt-family-champions-center.aspx

"Julia and I are excited to part of this transformative project for Xavier Athletics" said Dr. Robert Heidt, Jr., a Vice-Chair of the Xavier University Board of Trustees. "Creating an all-encompassing facility for Xavier's Olympic sports will improve the experience for student-athletes by saving time and giving each team much-needed training space and locker room areas. The close proximity of training areas will also improve the ability of the different arms of Athletics to work together to serve the student-athletes."

Dr. Heidt is CEO of Wellington Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine, where he has practiced as a physician since 1982. Additionally, Heidt served as the team physician and board chair for St. Xavier High School. Heidt also served as the team physician for the Cincinnati Bengals for nearly three decades. During his time with the Bengals, Heidt earned the Jerry "Hawk" Rhea Award for excellence in the NFL in 2010 and served as president of the NFL Physicians' Society.

Heidt completed his undergraduate studies at St. Louis University and attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, doing his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at UC.

Julia Scripps Heidt serves on the Board of Trustees for the Scripps Family Office. An active philanthropist, she serves as a trustee for the Heidt Family Foundation along with Dr. Heidt.

At the very least, has SLU established a direct connection to the BE expansion pipeline via the Xavier BoT? The Heidt's are driving the $10 million project afterall. BTW, The Scripps are major philanthropists in San Diego. Not bad when you have an SLU grad forking over major dollars for a project on Victory Parkway.

Normally I’d not get In the Middle of these stupid arguments but a $54M dollar hub isn’t all that great. I guess living in Norwood you would need a medical center after all violent crime in Norwood occurs at a rate higher than in most communities of all population sizes in America. The chance that a person will become a victim of a violent crime in Norwood; such as armed robbery, aggravated assault, rape or murder; is 1 in 382. stayed at my friends apartment for New Year’s Eve in Norwood and had car broke into.

Normally, you should consider posting before you make a fool of yourself.

Even though it's obvious to most here that Xavier has a Cincinnati address and the vast majority of its campus sits in Cincinnati, Cryer fans continue to attempt to play the Norwood card still. Why do you do that when VD is located in the city of Dayton? Seriously, why would anyone from Dayton want to shine a spotlight on campus locations?

So, you think you're good at the data thing when supporting your position? Okay.

Dayton Neighborhood Crime Stats: 176 Incidents Reported
University of Dayton reported 176 safety-related incidents involving students while on Dayton public property near campus in 2017. Of the 2,795 colleges and universities that reported crime and safety data, 2,783 of them reported fewer incidents than this. Based on a student body of 11,250 that works out to about 15.64 reports per thousand students. In 2017, 2,726 colleges and universities reported fewer incidents per thousand students than did U of Dayton.

Cincinnati Neighborhood Crime Stats: No Incidents Reported
Xavier University reported no safety-related incidents involving students while on Cincinnati public property near campus in 2017. 1,661 of the 2,795 colleges and universities that reported crime and safety data also reported no incidents. Based on a student body of 6,260 that works out to about 0.00 reports per thousand students.

You lose. BTW, your on-campus performance is, well, not a beacon of light.

And the HUB is going to be a fantastic addition to Xavier's campus.

Cool story, Im Talking personal experience. The UD campus is in a shitty part of Dayton with inner city on one side and oak wood on other. UD has always been the buffer for the rich folk of oakwood. But I don’t live in Dayton so don’t really care.

Btw, I did consider posting...that’s why I posted.

Sounds like you were the problem to begin with.

We really don't care about your personal experience.

Now consider getting lost.

I recall a gentleman’s Agreement some time ago that all posters would declare their allegiance for transparency. I wish all would respect that. I think too often disrespectful posts are falsely attributed to Dayton fans by X fans, but maybe I’m wrong....

BTW. I just read the post above re the crime the UD police report. I have intimate knowledge of the UD campus, and can only say that seems contrary to my knowledge. I wonder if that is students misbehaving during St Patrick’s Day, etc The campus is absolutely one of the most attractive campus I have been to ( I have been to many). It’s a draw to our student recruiting. I’ve not been to the X campus but hope its as lovely as UD.
